Are you personally acquainted with developer and aware of her financial situation to make such claim?
she actually said that in one of her last Q & A that after she started working on GGGB she decided to become a full time adult games developer, i don't remember her full answer but you can look it up.

Perry basically lives in an apartment his parents own while making his friend pay rent. Kind of a dick move tbh lol.
and the worst thing is that he was the reason Ian was kicked out from his parents' house and he keeps nagging him about not having his own place, that's why i hate Perry and that's why i jumped at the first chance and fucked Emma up the ass and was hoping he would catch them fucking.

I spent 17 hours of Saturday and 10 hours of Sunday to simply go through each path and fix most of the major bugs on Lena's part only. Imagine coding all of that as well as drawing everything, coming up with the story, etc... Do you really think she has time for anything else? She's living in the crunch mode right now. This game at this stage requires 3 months of development time, judging by the amount of content that Chapter 6 is going to have, but she released everything monthly (this update is an exception). From now on, every Chapter would be released bi-monthly and it's still rushing it if you ask me.

Yeah, it's weird that being one of the most renowed developers on this site Eva has so few patrons. GGGB is already legendary but a lot more obscure and lesser quality devs have way more support. I've been supporting other adult developers in the past but right now I feel Eva Kiss is the only one worth really suporting
I think it's the fact that Eva doesn't really advertise her game anywhere. In her Discord, she has free demos of each game, so she could contact all these adult game sites like playforce that advertise various adult games to increase her audience. But yeah, apparently despite popularity here, not enough people really care about rewarding her for her efforts.

Eh, it really boils down to how viable a Patreon business model is in an oversaturated porn-on-Patreon market. Someone who supports her for a few months, or makes a donation at the end of development time could also be considered "rewarding her efforts", it just sucks that unlike standard (AAA) game developers she doesn't get paid during the process of creation.

A couple of people have answered you already, but to add to that, I'm not acquainted with her but I am a Patreon and I saw her Q&A and talked with her on her discord, and I know for a fact she's a full time dev for her games.
So yeah, she needs (and deserves) the support. I know not everyone can pay each month, but to say something as baffling as "she's doing it for free anyway" is kinda insulting to her work ethic and really unaware of the struggles of most devs. That's why I encourage everyone to at least pay once in a while and show some support, even if only a small amount, for the games they really enjoy.

My statement was about finances, not the effort involved in game creation. Assumptions about developer having or not having time for something else aside from working on game are irrelevant. So unless you have a real knowledge of developer's financial situation (who knows, maybe you do accounting for her together with helping to QA the game), all claims of having insight about her income sources are rather doubtful.

Nonetheless, I very much appreciate the time and efforts EvaKiss dedicates to the game development, and also your effort for testing and weeding out bugs and errors.

Kindly quote exact phrase where I said "EvaKiss does game development for free". Twisting my words in attempt to make yourself looks good, doesn't really win you any points.

You are the one who said she does it purely on enthusiasm and that the game is essentially free, yes ?

If you had paid attention you would have noticed his comment was replying to someone who was crying about how long Ch. 6 took to make.
So the "free" comment was in reference to that person probably pirating it anyway...thus he was actually defending Evakiss.
Perhaps look more carefully next time...there's enough drama here as it is without pointlessly adding to it

That person was saying he was more bothered by how long it took for that chapter to be made than for CP2077. Meaning, he was more hyped by ORS, it wasn't a complain.
You're the one who should read more carefully buddy.

Yes, and you have completely misinterpreted my statement.
Working on enthusiastic drive does not equal working for free.
Game can be considered essentially free though, because it has no paywalls, no mandatory subscriptions or anything of that sort, and each and every release will eventually pop up here. Actually kudos to EvaKiss for avoiding paywalls - that stuff repulses significant number of possible patrons.

Look, I don't want to drag this eternally, but here are a couple of things :
-the fact the game releases pop up here is not an argument, this forum is a PIRATE forum. While it's convenient for us cause we get to test games and play them for free, it is actively robbing a dev from incomes ;
-speaking of which, I said to your initial statement, that as much as she is enthusiastic about the game it is her only income, she relies on patreons to live, to which you basically asked all of us proofs (which we did quoting her but you still say "that doesn't prove that she doesn't have other stuff?")
-the game HAS a paywall, in fact if you were a patreon you'd know you have to pay 5$ monthly to get the final version of each updates, 10$ to get the alpha/beta, etc... Now you can of course decide to pay only once in a while and have access to the most recent update, nothing wrong with that, it's still supporting her to make this game. But it's just not accurate to say what you're saying.

That discussion can drag for quite a while. I guess best to be done, is to avoid devolving it into turd-flinging session.
- Piracy. I'd strongly disagree on that. Imo, concept of piracy cannot be applied for patreon projects. In it's essence, it is a charity. Developer creates something - if that something is well liked, the project is rewarded with subscriptions / donations. There is no set contract, no distribution rights no nothing.
- And I'll stand by the statement, that unless you're a very close friend of developer, or her personal accountant, you cannot know her financial situation / income sources. And maybe that for the better.
- Looks like you and I have very different understanding of paywalls. Just take a look at some projects, that require patron-only codes to unlocks scenes, or even redirect you to some fishy website to pay for content and scene can only be available online. ORS doesn't have any of that.
And yes, I'm not event registered on Patreon and probably will never be - way to much dislike for that platform. I prefer donating to developers directly, if there is a possibility.

The thing I'm curious about, what does it matter? Maybe she has other income, maybe she doesn't. What difference does it make and what point are you trying to argue when talking about Eva's income? Even if she has other sources (which is unlikely), so what?

It doesn't. Simple as that. Developer's finances are developer's finances. And actually none of our business. Speculation started when I replied to patachoucs's claim that game development is sole source of income for EvaKiss, to which I've disagreed, based on the fact that none of us has access to her accounting information.

Still, I consider aforementioned to be a pretty good piece of non-hostile banter.
