Yeeeah.... no. I mean each to their own, if that's all you want. If your main goal in PC is to score two cute maidens, that's fine, but i think you don't need this game for it, there are hundreds of others in which you can do that.
The main appeal of PC for me are the characters, their backstories and how they connect to each other, i really want to know what's going on with them, and leaving just one piece out would destroy the picture.
There are other Games with better CGIs, other games which have also a good worldbuilding and have also a well-done characterization of its cast. But i consume those other games like most movies, they are enjoyable while watching and when you leave the theater their effect doesn't last. And then there are those rare movies, series, books or games which keep you engaged long after you have seen, read or played them. For me PC is one of those rarities. I honestly can't remember any other AVN which kept me engaged so thoroughly. I don't expect everyone to feel the same way about PC, but perhaps you can relate.
So you are of course welcome to just get off on your favourites, i don't judge, but it feels to me like you treat an A5 wagyu filet as a random piece of beef, good enough to grind into common burger patties. You can do that, i won't call you philistine, yet i prefer to savour its taste more extensively.

Ye, sounds good mate, as you said each to their own. Pale Carnations is a good work and i will continue playing it as long it gets updated. For you to choose how you consume is your own right. It's just weird to see everybody make assumptions / theories and wander off into the abyss of theorycrafting.

LOL, I can't help but think waaaaaayyyy(/s) back to June 2022 when I played my first VN. A wholesome tale about a man, his landlady and his female roommate... Little did I know what that really meant, and where it would lead me.
Yeah, you can never think about landlords/ladies and roommates in the same way again after your first VNs, right? ;)That you can "thank" Patreon and their bigotry for.

It's funny, I was talking to my friend about VN's and he has only ever played one, he said its about some landlady and her tenants, it was so weird the way they acted around each other at first. I started cracking up and didn't have the heart to tell him.

It's honestly weird for me that I am into PC, its much more edgy than I usually go for, I don't like seeing characters get hurt or being forced into doing something they wouldn't because of bad circumstance, but I am really enjoying this one so far, I just finished

It's weird to think that stuff like this seems to be regarded as normal in some areas of the world. I live in a country where it's a criminal offense for landlords/-ladies to stick their noses into their tenants business too much. The two parties see each other exactly once, and that's when the contract is signed.

Apologies if you already know all of this, but from 2013 to 2017 the US Department of Justice was applying a lot of pressure to American financial institutions to restrict their dealings with "high risk" industries. I think there were like 30 industries targeted, but the most notable ones were firearms sales, payday lending, and . . . porn. Payment processors, banks, and credit card companies felt like they couldn't be associated with a lot of things like virtual incest porn, so in turn they told companies like Patreon to ban that kind of content or else they wouldn't allow Patreon to use their services anymore.

On paper all of this DOJ meddling ended in 2017, but I think American financial institutions are still more than a little gun shy about dealing with these industries.

All that to say, Patreon may not actually be bigoted towards fictional incest porn, they may just feel like it's not safe for them to be associated with it. At the end of the day, they're just a player in the game too.

That is basically the core issue at hand here. The only widely used online payment processors are based in a country restricted by puritanical values, even if not overtly so. There is desperate need for competition in this field.
A payment processor should do exactly that, process payments. As long as the transaction is not straight up illegal, there is no place for moral high ground in providing a service. Every other industry would go straight out of business if they tried snooping in their customers business like that.
Then again, data protection laws are somewhat of an alien concept to americans, they wouldn't know any better.

As far as Patreon goes, there is more than enough past evidence that it's Trust & Safety Team is mostly run by SJWs, there's no question about that.

There might be a russian/chinesse alternative soon, though I don't know if it'd be better...

I'd be curious since last I heard russia is all but cut off from most worldwide financial services at the moment. Regardless, I wouldn't send any of my personal data to china anyway. Tiktok does that for me already.
