yes, i find a woman who is into hunting, freely chooses to let herself get gang banged on drugs on a food table, considers herself the worlds best chemist alive, is the personal slave of a scientist willingly, the way she absolutely toys with smart mc, is into experimenting on humans against their will, and is a chess master - all at the same time - much more creepy than chuck who seemingly just wants to fuck and even is willing to play 100 matches of chess against sophia just to fuck her. maybe future revelations will change that. she just seems like an absolute psychopath. the club owners seem more like slaves of their desire.
Sophia is a prime example of the fact that genius is just a shouting distance away from not being fully right in the head, but that is something you can work with quite well. Chuck on the other hand is a Janusface per excellence, you do not want to see what goes on when he let the reigns slip, willingly or unwillingly. Chuck does not want to "just" fuck Sophia, it is very massively implied that Chuck letting loose is nothing you want to be in attendence and is dangerous to boot!
The Housegirls he uses sometimes are deeply frightened of him. And more, the character you find so creepy, Sophia Lundgren, finds Chuck scary!
A tipp for you from life experience: If someone you know to be creepy or dangerous or strange is telling you he/she finds something this or that, listen closely and act accordingly!
while kat seems to be collaborating with abel+sophia because of getting more power and enjoying the drug testing, it wouldnt require her to keep the experiments a secret from august and chuck if they would be okay with it though.
so my guess would be that they would not be okay with it.
Pardon, but I am unable to follow your train of thought here, because I find it to be on the wrong salient. There have been multiple hints, e.g. Kath pushing Hana to accept her share in the club with the intention to buy her out later, the secret collaboration with Abel and Sophia, that Kath wants to gain more power in the club at the least, maybe longterm pushing out the others, becoming sole owner.
Naturally she collaborates with Abel in secrecy so that Chuck and August does not get wind of her gathering influence and power! The experimentation in the basement is nothing that would shock them, Chuck would even like it nearly as much as Kath does. But Kath does it in secret because she holds her deck close to the chest, she wants a hidden ace against Chuck and August.
its kinda a bit of a pointless discussion since we only have clues, but i find the knee jerk reaction many have (not sying you do) hearing about prostitutes a bit weird, since in many countries (at least in europe and asia) many prostitutes do it purely for financial advantage/easier job and not because they are forced into it by evil people. not all prostitutes are victims.
I live in a nation where prostitution is legal and have no problems with the general concept of prostitution. And I know that a nice sized chunk of prostitutes here do it for the money, it is a job like many others. A minority even gets off on it.
But even here we have a segment of prostitutes which were forced into it, not as much as in some other nations, but still.
But what you overlook when it comes to the PC club, that we have multiple smaller and bigger hints, through events and conversations, that the majority of the Housegirls is forced to work there for various reasons.
but that the girl in the basement is there for personal preference seemed highly unlikely.
Certainly not, but she would be dead already otherwise. Who do you think put her there? Kath and her right hand Warren, Abel and Sophia would not be there to experiment if they had a secret "supply" of test subjects elsewhere.
Kath stated that a Darius situation would never happen again and Chuck phrased his answer very ambigiously to his fate.
Even if Darius and his girl made it, Kath is resolved to never let it happen again, which means a terminal solution. It is implied that the girl in the basement is one nobody will miss and crossed Kath the wrong way. Which means she would have been killed as a loose end by Kath via Warren, but being a test subject for Sophia´s tests keeps her alive.
