Hello all, TD here coming at you with a developer diary.
As of 9/23, we sit at 313 static images, 13 animations, and 10,568 words.
As you can see, development has been a bit charged. Myself? I've been finding work extra-enjoyable lately and passing on that workload to my indomitable partner. I think you'll find this update will have something for everyone. Presently, we juuuust finished a juicy Hana scene and are moving onto a tight sequence of back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back-to-back story segments. It's in those, like the last update, that I'm having a ton of fun tackling and figuring out the pacing of.
Now, not only is there a lot of varied content (a lot of different scenes, locations, and mixes of characters), but you can expect some UI overhauls in 4.4. To name one specifically, I've been itching to redo the scene replay gallery. The 2x2 grid has become increasingly impractical as the updates pile on, so I'm going to take a more organized stab at it. I have some other ideas, but I will save those for future developer diaries when I've actually broken ground on them.

So, I've just finished playing the whole game from scratch... and folks, let me tell you this from the bottom of my heart:
Mutt & Jeff, guys, I hope you're reading this: I LOVE YOUR GAME. I'm fucking lovin' it.
I honestly think that from a literary standpoint, as a piece of literary work Pale Carnations is among the 5 best F95 games ever.
Your writing is so good that you made me literally adore Hana even though I totally hate tattoes, which is saying plenty!
Unfortunately, now I just have to endure until the next update.

Just wondering which character is more dangerous for MC/the Carnations/Hana/the brothel's girls... Kathleen? uncle Chuck? August? Warren? the brothel's patrons?
If I were MC I'd carefully (very carefully) watch out for Warren and a couple of patrons (the old senator who loves beating the girls and cop Jim).

Warren is a bad dude but he is just a tool for higher ups, so directly I wouldn't be too vary of him... but if the higher ups decide to break your legs for whatever reason, he will be the one coming for you

Assuming Warren is "the gun", yea. Warren presents little risk to anyone but the house girls. Auggie is low risk as long as everybody plays ball. Kat is definitely the obvious one to watch out for, but Chuck is a less defined quantity and gives me dark horse vibes. Like, plot twist: Chuck is secretly the Underground Boss of Fujou High.

If Edwin digs too deep into the Club Carnations rabbit hole, he may just end up like his predecessor. I don't think Chuck expected Kat to take such an interest in Edwin and become his de facto mentor, especially since Ian is very disintersted in the workings of the club itself, only caring about the pussy it gets him, most likely expecting Edwin to be the same. Edwin's curiosity might bring hin to a bad end.
I suspect Victoria will come sniffing around too, since she's been suspicious of Edwin's activities for a while, especially since he started mentioning Chuck and August to her. August most likely used to be her producer/pimp, and Chuck was maybe one of her nastier clients, especially given his sexual "proclivities". So if Edwin tries to get out of the spider's web, or Vicky tries to investigate further, there may just be some nasty stuff in store for them, especially since Edwin already knows too much.

No reason why you shouldn't create 2 different game saves: 1) Hana GF and 2) Mina+Hana FB. I bet a tenner that if we properly raised our Mina bi-curious points our Mina&Hana route will sub-branch into 3) a "Mina+Hana throuple relationship" route and 4) an optional "choose Mina over Hana" route.
Anyway, you can cheat on Hana in her girlfriend route - you will collect "cheat points" - but if I were you I wouldn't do it.

The preview screenshot the other day very much looked like Hana asking for Mina's number, which depending on your choices and promises could either lead to disaster or to the H/M threesome.
