The table wasn't really about her testing the drug; rather, how far this woman was willing to go for the old man Edwin made nice with. If anyone remembers, but Abel later offers Sophia to Edwin, and obviously Chuck has his blessing for his roundabout foreplay with her. I see the way Abel freely offers his head researcher to associates as a form of self-exaltation. He's showing off, basically.
Well, since she always wears her "perfume" whenever she talks to Edwin, I assumed she did the same in that "hors-d'oeuvre situation". :D

In hindsight, I think that gets lost on the initial viewing because the reader only sees her standing next to Abel like once and assumed she was a house girl (if they recognized her at all), but I still like the combination punch of showing a yet-to-be-revealed powerful woman's depraved side before she has even been properly introduced.
That's what happened to me first. I thought she was a random house girl and I didn't identify her as Sophia when Sophia appeared next. I only realised it when a user - sorry, I don't remember who - pointed it out on this thread. :D

Abel and Sophia seem like "ends justify the means" type of people. Abel clearly sent Sophia to butter up and poke Edwin for reaction, and she put on the ditzy nerd persona in order to sucker him in, but Edwin is a lot smarter than most give him credit for, and he's realized that she's a very cold blooded, calculating individual that doesn't have his best interests at heart. Abel and Sophia can't expect people to trust them when they walk around like Mengele and his understudy, conducting shady experiments out in the open.

At least Kat is very charming and personable, and hides her cruely extremely well, while Sophia is clearly playing up the nerd angle, and it obviously worked, considering how many dudes here are desperate to get together with a hot girl that won't make fun of them for playing video games, even hoping for a happy ending with her. Hell, even Edwin wasn't lured by the honey trap, but people here are. You've played way too many harem games if you think any of these women will have happy endings, except maybe the winner of the competition, and even then, it probably won't involve Edwin.

Hell, even Hana and Mina, two of the "vanilla" girls, have shady circumstances about them, with Hana working at the club and being August's daughter, while Mina is Ian's ex gf and a closet nympho. I don't think this game will have many happy endings, but I may be wrong.

While you bring some interesting thoughts/theories to our discussion table, there is a flaw in your argument. You assume that Sophia "put on" a nerd persona to lure us in, but that is not the case. Sophia Lundgren can socialize, but it is FAR from her forte. Whenever we see her in the game it becomes quite obvious that she is an eccentric nerdy genius, blunt and straightforward. She is not honey trap material, because even those smitten with her can still recognise that she is an amoral, the end justify the means, calculating woman, who can be very dangerous when needed.

I think it was Ottoeight who said paraphrased: Even a true sadist like Kath becomes cautious when "dat ass" is around. With reason, since if Kath´s wet dream is being like e.g. Freddy Krüger or Dean Corrl, Sophia is more like Agent 47, the sniper rifle waiting for you, the garotte in a foggy night or the poisoned chalice.
What I find a lot more alarming in the game is that Sophia considers Chuck being scary! If a person as amoral and dangerous as Sophia tells you someone is scary, you´d better listen carefully!

Coming back to the "test" done on our MC: It is also possible for us to connect well with Sophia and her starting to warm up to us (at least a little). I am one of those hoping for a romance path with her, because worming your way into the cold, calculating heart of Sophia Lundgren is certainly a different experience than a more standard romance.
That said, I consider Hana, Felicia and Sophia by far the best romance/love matches for us, followed by Mina and Daria, our Latina head housegirl.

No one will be able to convince me that Uncle Chuck isnt a chummy gregarious old man until I see otherwise!
Just you wait! Another few decades in the direction we are currently going and your grandkids will call you insecure for refusing to eat your wife's poop. :ROFLMAO:

I feel like we had this exact discussion a few months back :ROFLMAO:. I think you have a very naive and rose colored view of Sophia. Even if you do worm your way into Sophia's cold, dead heart, she's the type of woman who has no qualms about hurting the ones she "loves" if Abel wills it. Abel and his experiments will always come first to whoever has the misfortune of being her lover. I don't think a Sophia route, much less a happy ending is feasible within the game's plot. Even Edwin, with his savior complex and mommy issues, has enough sense to notice that something's very off about Sophia, and thathe's better off staying away from her.

He's much better off nestled between Rose's mommy milkers, since she's not manipulating him at all, no sir

Might be that we had a similar discussion earlier, it still makes fun to discuss!
I do not have a rosetinted view of Sophia, I am very aware of her perks, flaws and being a dangerous person (actually it can be a boon for Edwin that she is, if ever something goes south with the current leadership of PC), but you underestimate one thing. Abel will not be the CEO of Waller all that much longer, his retirement will be in the not too far future. Then Sophia will be the boss and you the husband of said boss. Two nerds in command of a medical empire, there are worse ways to end up.

Also you most probably did not get it in your playthrough, but if you and Sophia connect well, there are changes happening. Small for now, but they happen. If you keep your distance from her, these changes do not start.
I mentioned it before, a scene of Viktoria visiting Edwin, while Sophia is visiting him too would be very interesting,

I find it funny that you mention Rosi as a top option for Edwin. Rosi is one of the most manipulative persons in the game! Something even Edwin is partly aware off now. There are reasons why I consider Hana, Felicia and Sophia the LI top choices for Edwin. Among them is the fact that all three are very much "What you see, is what you get" persons. Granted, they have additional wishes, wants and traits (like Felicia being an renowned artist and is at PC to save her former school), but their general personalities are not affected by this.
Kath, Rosi or Chuck on the other hand are very manipulative, shifty and behind the curtain persons.

At least being cut open by Sophia could be considered topical unlike random porn of some random girl.

That being said Sophia is much more likely to keep you intact but turn you into a lab rat rather than just "lol crazzzy girl muuuurder". If she's just trying to be a sadist she reeeeeeeeeallly did a lot of extra work.

I have to admit, I'm now curious what would qualify as a "rose-tinted" view of Dr. Lundgren. Butterflies routinely landing on her fingertips? Curing the injured with her tears of pure joy? Guilt tripping Kathleen into closing down the Club and committing herself to her late sister's charities? Raising the MC's father from the dead? The world wonders.

Rosiland as the best choice for EDWIN? Maybe for the player (with a milf fetish) but not Edwin lmao.

Aren't a good portion of her (non club) scenes reliant on you "promising" her you'll do your best for her to "win the game"? Even if I'm remembering incorrectly how many of Edwin x Rose scenes involve Edwin thinking "she's/her situation is just like my moooooommmmmmy"? Thats something he clearly struggles with even at the start of the game (literally just WATCHING porn tapes of his mother), and the best way to get over that is someone who reminds Edwin of his mom 99% of the time? If you guys mean " I would fap hardest to this scenario" then just say that. For me it would Edwin ending up with Veronica :HideThePain:

Considering that even at max score with her she gives Edwin the "if you speak while my daughter is on the phone I will cut your balls off" look... meaning right now even if Edwin is the absolute "best" he can be she still doesn't even trust him enough for her daughter to know that...... a MALE was in their house!?!?! But I'm sure a couple more weeks and she'll be willing to bring Edwin over to meet the daughter (ignore that Edwin has the possibility of still working at the club as an "end state")

I think the 3 Carnations are "best match" for various players, someone like Hana (similar struggles, similar current situation, similar values) or even Mina because of her having to "act like a person" pretty much all the time both offer actual paths of "growth" for Edwin.

Edit: To be clear I don't think Sophia is a better "match" than Rose. We don't know enough about the "real nature" of her relationships to claim one way or the other

A rosetinted view would be not recognising that Sophia Lundgren is a "approach at your own risk" person. You can win big if it goes well, if you make a major mistake it is "hello labrat".
It is most likely that you did not encounter the beginning changes in your playthrough, since you kept your distance from her. If you connect well with her, there are changes starting. You simply should not fuck that up.
As I said, if you ever really displease the PC leadership, Abel, Sophia and maybe Jacob might be the only ones capable of saving your hide.

Man, it looks like Turret vs The People of F95Zone more and more...
:sneaky:
Hardly, Chummer, hardly! It is mainly Ename and you, not the rest of F95. But if you feel better believing your estimations, be my guest. ;)
