Yeah, but most players dont want another guy involved in the poly relationship. So even though its not technically NTR, it still feels that way for the player who doesn't want the other guy involved.
Although, based on the dev response I got on page 2. It seems like you can eventually kick Liam out and just have MC + girls.

I'm not going to get snarky with you, I like you but if they don't want other guys involved then poly games aren't for them. It's not NTR no matter how they try and spin it, it's open for all.
Harem games or solo romance will probably be more their speed, certainly not anything like this.
Or at the very least be the one to have fun with her first before others come into the picture. I'd hope she would want to be in the poly relationship with someone she trusts instead of someone random.

You can have a single guy + girls poly game, look at Triangle for example. A poly relationship can be any combination. 2 girls + 1 guy, 2 guys 2 girls, 1 girl 2 guys etc. Having some choice as to who is in the relationship is a good thing. Just like in harem or solo games, you pick who you want.
