Played a bit of the game before I got softlocked, and mostly liked what I saw. The art is perfectly functional (though the White Walker eyes are a bit bizarre). The worldbuilding in RPGM is much better than average. In particular, the house interiors with lots of stuff to interact with adds a lot a enjoyment to the play.
The biggest problem I have (or, more properly, will have, since I haven't encountered it yet) is the kiddie porn. Making a character that looks, acts, and behaves like a ten-year old is okay, so long as they don;t engage in sex. Simply claiming that the obviously-ten-year-old character is really 18+ will not cut it anywhere. See Rule 7
here at F95 to see that they are not allowed here, either. Not a lot of countries make such depictions illegal (since they are fictional characters) but some countries do, so you'd be better-off not using the child characters here in sexual situations.
The story is okay, but suffers from the usual first-time-RPGM-author problem of the author not remembering that the player does not know what the author knows. So, when the author has a quest assignment to "pick 10 ingredients," the author has to tell the player what an ingredient looks like, so the player isn't irritated by having to click-click-click-click on everything to discover which things are actually what the quest is looking for. Similarly, when the quest is "go to your uncle's house," the author 9and the character) know where that is, but the player is forced to irritatingly check every building in the village to find the right one. Reya should just say "uncle's house is in the north-central part of town" after she leaves the house. Ditto for mayor's house.
There are also a few needlessly complex quest-ending requirements. At the pub, when Reya finishes, she talks to the barkeep, then her friend, then the bartender where she gets paid, and is told to change the dress. Nothing indicates that the dress should be put back in the drawer, but that's common sense. However, the quest finishing sequence isn't over. When Reya tries to leave, she says "I have to finish my shift." Uhhh... she has finished it and gotten paid. So what gives? There's no clue as to what to do next. It turns out that she has to talk to her friend again, and then the bartender again, but the player just has to blunder about blindly to discover that. Lots of things like that in the game; Reya can only open the buy screen in the store if she lacks the money to buy anything. Once she gets the money to buy something, it kicks off the "model a dress" quest and the woman selling clothing will not sell any clothing until "the dress is finished" in a week. WTF?
The game frustrated me quite a few times (and in the current game it is softlocked because Eddie joined the party when I tried to tell him his mother was looking for him (he says "let's go!" when he joins but there is nowhere to go and no way to get rid of him). I understand that this bug is being corrected, but it still means that I can't play on.
In spite of all of the above, I think that this game shows enormous potential, both for the game itself, and for the developer. There is a lot of attention to detail here, and the protagonist doesn't do the all-to-common FMC stunt of falling on a dick the first time she goes outdoors. She's a genuinely likable and clever, if a bit naive, personality. I also very much appreciate the dev eschewing Mutant Tits.
Can't wait for more.
