How did the game get out? I posted it for $5 Patreons, went to sleep, and now it is everywhere... I don't mind that it's out early I guess because I would have released it anyways but I'm kind of, no very, broke and I wanted to get a few more $5 Patreons first.

Not really, from start you can chose between white and black MC. Actually, other MC is Dustin's friend with large beard. I think developer for now focused on white MC because there was more of interest in that side. In fact, there was pool here.
From what I understood, reading comments, and extracting pictures, story of black MC would differ significantly, I believe that was another reason why he focused on one branch for now. (Rendering new characters, possibly events etc...)

To be completely honest, I have absolutely no interest in playing as Jason. Jason falls into the black best friend trope by default with Dustin as the mc and was the best friend of the original mc. It's really hard to express my dissapointment without any disparaging remarks for the dev. I haven't had time to play much of anything due to work over the past 10 months and also wasnt following the developement in much detail. When I saw the artwork in the op change originally, I was a little confused, but thought the dev gave the option to play as either Dustin or the mc from the demo. I didn't look much into it, so thats on me.

I'm black. I've played games with non black main characters all my life. Don't really mind it either. However, aside from games that allow to to create a character, you dont really see many games even in the mainstream that have black mc's as the intended protagonist. Much less, a porn game that doesn't fall into the the overused tropes for black characters. I mean a story designed with a black mc specifically in mind, not just a cosmetic choice. This game was originally 1 of 3 that I've seen and played on this entire site and one the three isn't written natively in English.

So imaginge how I feel finding this potential gem but being unable to actively play or support right away. Then months later when I finally have time to catch up on things, the direction of the game has dramatically shifted. Our original mc is now Dustin and as a compromise you get to play his black best friend Jason before the events of the main game... The mc from the demo and his story is what got me interested in this game. I do not mind Dustin being playable for those who don't like playing black characters or just prefer Dustin and his girls. I wouldn't mind Dustin's version of the story taking priority for the sake of drumming up support for this game. I fully understand going with demand but playing as Jason isn't a good enough compromise for me. If the original set of girls are intended for Jason's story, why not use the original mc instead? Why not make the origial mc's girls available to Dustin and Dustin's girls available for the og mc? (Obviously with whatever adjustments needed to make sense) I guess wanting to make a unique scenario is understandable if thats the reason behind Jason being used, but its still really disappointing.

Listen, I'm hoping you get all the support you need in order to make this game better and make it less time consuming for you. I was so impressed by what I saw in the demo. Still have it on my pc. Like I said before, I'm personally a big fan of Robert. Don't really mind Dustin at all, just prefer Robert more. If you continue to go with 2 mc's, I'd vote for Robert over Jason any day. When I can, I'll support. Getting rid of VN mode sounds good to me.

Ok I recapitulate: The MC calls only Julia mother and the other adopted mother aunt ... whereas the one adopted mother Julia calls herself whatever and by the same token calls her lesbian "wife" mother (of the MC) ... is there any way to get people more or better confused????

Sorry if it confused you but this was my thought process. Imagine a child is talking with his mother and the mother directs the child to do something the the child's father said. The mother would say "Your father told you to...." If the father was telling the child the mothers direction then he would say, "Your mother told you to..." Now imagine they are both your mother. You will see later on that they, Julia and Katherine, both refer to their partner as the MC's mother when talking to him. In short, Katherine would also say your mom when talking to Dustin and be referring to Julia.

As for the kids, Holly would say mom when referring the Katherine and auntie when referring to Julia but brother when referring to Dustin and at the moment Heather for Heather.
Heather is more family oriented. She would say Mom when referring to both Katherine and Julia, sister when referring to Holly, and brother when referring to Dustin

If I like the game, I was planning on donating but I'm still at the beginning. It nothing to do with the price. I won't donate to a game I barely played. Its fine without a walk-through if I can roll back and choose different choices easily, but its hard to navigate that way unless I was saving/loading at each choice. I see people have been asking for roll back since the 1st release, thats one of best features of ren'py. I know I may be picky but games only get better with criticism.

But from what I saw in the first couple minutes seems great, and I love the animations, A+.
