I think we are going to always be at a bit of an impasse in regards to how we feel about AI, but I'm glad you used the word soulless. That is exactly how AI art feels to me, and is a hard deal breaker for me. I would personally take the multiple styles over AI every day of the week. Artists interpretation can be screwy with proportions and stuff true, but at the same time you don't have mutated limbs and such like you get with AI. Regardless, even hoping they try and create consistent AI images without error is expecting too much from them in that I don't think they care about their game enough to do so.
Roundscape is a bit of a sunken ship in that yeah it probably is too late, I agree there. But people have also had problems with the multiple art styles for years. I can understand it being hard to find an artist willing to commit to a big project like this, but I can't imagine it would have been impossible at least some point after they gained traction. They even seem like they found a main artist for a lot of the newer scenes, before the AI anyway. Could they have paid them to go back and remake scenes? I'm not a dev so I can't say they haven't even tried, but I guess at this point we are just talking about what should have been. Arenus's art probably did take awhile, but that game was in development hell for many more reasons than just art.
You mentioned the old art is still there, but not in an official way to my knowledge. I would have to go grab a player made patch to put them back in. I would have much less of a problem if they did keep the old art scenes in game and let me switch to them at will (though if that changed feel free to correct me, I stopped following the development of this awhile ago).

Based on the picture i would take a look at the lizard village. I didn't check the patch yet tho, so it's just a guess.
I know hoping they backtrack and stop with the AI useless at this point, so I'll just ask, have they fixed the gallery yet or not?

Setting aside all the moral implications the use of AI could incur, I just really don't want to jack off to something an algorithm created. Game was aight before this nonsense, terrible writing, art was inconsistent as fuck, combat was awful, quests were bland, obtuse and frequently unmarked, but overall it was still a weirdly enjoyable experience. Sad to see the devs take it in this vomit-inducing direction.
There is a patch in the opening post that puts the original hand drawn artwork back into the game instead of the AI versions. The newer scenes have been hand drawn, so that patch should be able to get rid of all the AI mess they have.

The patch is fan made. The official version uses AI for about 10% of the older scenes.
But yeah, ever since 6.0 there were a lot of people here who criticized the AI versions in detail and ethics aside, some of them can really go into the hidden nightmare fuel category and even without them, they are just a bit messy when even the lower quality originals were at least clearly visible and understandable.
So credit to him: CluckPover took it upon himself to get the original pictures to fit the new higher resolution.

Thank god for the everyday heroes out there keeping AI from breaching the one place they absolutely should not: porn. Just wish the site as a whole took a stronger stance against it.

I have a room in the castle but I don't know where my bed is in order to rejuvenate my energies or pass the day. I found the quarters but clicking on all the beds do nothing. How do I access the cheat codes? What really kills it for me is that moving around is shaky and a lot of stuttering and a lot of clicking of the mouse. I know some RPGM games are like that, and some run quite smoothly. And it takes forever to go from one scene to the next.
I may have solved some of my own questions. I found my own room and I 'll probably get some answers there. But, I don't think solving the mechanics to the game will be there.
