To me this is the best update of Sandstorm the dev has put out.
I couldn't be happier with the way the story is shaping up.
In conclusion I'm a fan of VNs that give us meaningful and rewarding choices

I find it weird when the game makes me build status with girls and then destroys my effort with random sequences that I have no control over. wtf
So far only with Rion. There's also NTR with Maddie, but it isn't really seen in the game. And yes, it is avoidable.
