I thought that harem will be in this game after that cameo in Picture Perfect.

I've always said it was a possibility, but never anything concrete. I can't predict too far ahead of the game, but now that we are getting into the girls,' routes, I don't think a harem makes sense. Starting a business with Irene, a bakery with Norah, and a bunch of other storylines that I have just Do not sit with so many girls that have so much going on.

But I'm just specificating. Nothing is set in stone yet

I play many of those harem games as a solo route. Usually just pick the woman that I find likeable and mostly ignore the others. Specially ones that are being twats for no reason other than jealousy. Very few harem games where I find having a harem is actually more than just a porn gimmick.

The thing is that these games are inherently built up as harem because you are dealing with multiple women. So just choosing one actually goes against how the game is made up in the first place, at least for so many of these games, which is why you won't find many where a guy is dealing with multiple girls, but he's only going to choose one.

I get that, believe me. It's just not really my thing to have multiple sexual partners. Though if, like in some games, those partners are also involved with each other and in the story that enriches their lives I am alright with that. Like in PP, actually, it made sense to have a harem. Everyone seemed like they actually got closer to each because of the mutual love they shared and everyone actually cared about each other rather than it just being a "wham bam, squirt some jizz in my bam bam."

Does it mean that, at some point in the future, there will be important branching points on this "harem" path?

Secret Summer was never actually planned as a full on harem. The girls all know the mc is messing with them all and accept sharing him. This has been known since the first release of the game if anyone paid attention or has been in his discord for any given time.

I like harem games (which I am defining here as games where you can have multiple LIs whether or not there is any involvment among the women) not because it's a fantasy of mine (one person at a time is all I want or need), but for a practical reason - I can see content with all the women without having to play the game multiple times. The lack of realism doesn't bother me. If I have to play through the game over and over choosing a different woman to focus on each time, I am likely to pass on that game (I make exceptions if the game is particularly good and the number of paths is reasonably limited (i.e., if there are 20 (interesting to me) LIs in the game and I have to pick only one each time, that game is probably going to get deleted no matter how good it is).

I respect the reason why not to go that route though. Like Treasure of Nadia goes full sex orgies at the end, and the feeling of sexual intimacy in the scenes just evaporates. Which is fine for people who only care about hot sex scenes, and not so much about the romance. But for those who like the romance the scenes can actually be boring.

You don't need to have the character act like a cheating douche lying through his teeth with the woman he's fucking.

Just the sex scenes are more intimate when done as a couple and not as a group, almost by definition of the word.

This MC is going to date every single woman, he will tell them all he loves them and how important they are to him. Not long after telling them that he'll go to another woman and say the exact same thing all the while never committing to a relationship with any of them.

This is why I don't like harems.

You can make the sex scenes as intimate as you like they are still superficial relationships with no romantic feeling to them.

The words are there but then they are said to someone else a few minutes later and these women that think they are loved sleep alone at night while the man that "loves" them is balls deep in someone else telling them just how important they are.

The only difference in this scenario is while those women are lying in bed alone every night they know he's with someone else, balls deep and saying the words he just said to them.

None of them will ever have a fulfilling relationship because he has to fit everyone in so it's a queue system and how romantic is that. Let's just hope there isn't more than 7 or they would be waiting longer than a week to get boned again.
