why did Selebus get banned?
Scene with Chinami was straw that broke the camel's back I'm pretty sure. I think Sensei washed her hair in a bath. Lewded the undeniable loli. Most games at least pretend their 'loli' content is just very petite young adult content. Senebus did not pretend otherwise for very long once he got rolling. For example I'm pretty sure SO takes place in a 'School', never mentioned specifically if it is a highschool of a college. The girls are never specified to be under 18 or not. Everyone knows what is going on and we are all going to hell for it.

If mods here had a problem with LiL's content, the site would have removed the game entirely instead of just banning Sel. The real issue was that Sel has a huge problem with piracy and tried to report his own game to get it removed IIRC. As well as sneaking in DRM into one of the updates. There was probably more that others remember.

Edit: I'd add that I think the same applies to Personas. If they had a problem with a criminal publishing a game, SO would have already been scrubbed. So this forum probably won't be a barrier to a comeback, it'll be a hundred other things stopping him.

Ah, that would be my bad then. Remember him having a problem with the site around that time. Also pretty sure that was about the time everyone was arguing about how they wanted to determine how to enforce or otherwise officially write that rule. LiL had been pretty much doing that rule dirty the entire time, figured Chinami's scene was the first, 'There is no way to try and defend this.'. The DRM thing was another reason I never looked far enough into to understand but pretty sure that was another solid reason he was banned.

since the game is abandoned, is it allowed to ask about other games similar to it (visually) in this thread?

I know that this style is Koikatsu (?) and there are a lot of games like that, but somehow the ones I checked out didn't appeal to me that much

This game is essentially a clone of the vastly more popular lessons in love
Kinda, but, and I think I've said this before somewhere else, if it had continued, we'd be talking about SO clones instead of LiL ones, since LiL is VERY unique, and SO is a bit more open for cloning, if you could say that.

Really? Which ones did you check?

In the beggining, maybe. It kind of evolved into its own thing after a bit, though. To the point where now I haven't filled the gap this left with anything. Just need my Mori back, bros

Nothing stopping an aspiring dev from just copying some of the story/character beats, it's not like the previous dev can stop you lmao.

Just don't molest and blackmail children this time, that's all we ask.

I think someone mentinoed it before, but this game itself and its story are pretty much done for as far as copying or succeeding it go.
And considering both this game and Lessons in Love, you'd need a pretty specific set of conditions to fulfill all the criteria of making these stories, not letting it consume you, and releasing it at a relatively fast (or at least not a glacial (maybe this is just me being spoiled by LiL even with the current breaks)) pace while keeping a surprisingly rare medium standard of quality.
I mean, the clones I like have pretty inconsistent and irregular release schedules, and the meh ones pretty much focus more on the sex aspect, with the story existing, but working more as a hook for the sex (not that the sex aspect in itself is bad).

I checked Lessons in Love and yeah, this is a game that I liked visually, I played it once, I'll probably come back

can you suggest a few more titles?

LiL tends to be actively hostile to the players, so kudos to you.
I'd say Dissonance and Sorrow of Rebirth, though, speaking in kinda known terms, they're only starting its second "reset" and barely past its first one respectively.
I'd also recommend Lost in You but (considering you mentioned the visual aspect) for some reason I feel it has a sameface issue, dunno why, which is weird considering what my previous recommendations were and the fact that all of them use Koikatsu, which lends to itself sameface in general.

they all look promising, especially Dissonance, but I know those games have a painful grind, so at least they have worthwhile "rewards"?

For Dissonance, IIRC, you have only actually done stuff (not all the way in some cases) with 4 characters, and only 2 of them have repeatable events. For Sorrow of Rebirth, also IIRC, you've only done it with one of the girls, and have a repeatable event with her too.
