If you're on mobile I've heard some phones have a security setting that disables HTML files from accessing other files on your phone. I'm sure that can be turned off but I don't know how to do it as I don't game on my phone. If you're on PC or Mac I have no idea why that would happen. Did you download the full zip and unzip it somewhere? If you just grabbed the HTML it wouldn't have the images in it.

On the side bar do you have "Ray is blackmailing you! Go to the motel to meet him." in red? Is the time between 8pm and 10pm? Can you send me a save please? I'm looking at the code and can't see any issues and I didn't make any changes to it either.

Edit: Actually, I did make a change to the motel screen to fix a rare occurrence where a person could go there and get a blank screen. But I haven't had any bug reports on it until now.

umm playing the fix in april 2023, get caught when Anya and amber broke in.

Ray blackmails MC and wants to meet MC at 8pm on Monday.
However I got no key of room 6 in my inventory when the the game says
" He presses an object into your hand and grabs your elbow quickly escorting you from his home. You stumble outside and look down at your hand. You're holding a key for a motel room judging by the tag hanging from it "

On next Monday at 8pm if i go to BNB it says
" You don't currently have a reason to reenter the Bed and Breakfast as you are no longer staying here. "
if I go to the motel it says
" You don't really have anything to do here right now. "

should i add the pick up playerinventory motel room 6 key code to all those switch case that mentioned Ray pressed an object into your hand but without actually adding the key to your inventory?

also on that Saturday event, set $events.rayAttractionDay to $gameDate.getDay() +2 actually sets rayAttractionDay to 8 and it will never trigger because $gameDate.getDay() is 1 on Monday and they will never match

if you want to set the blackmail event to work on Mondays, you need to set $events.rayAttractionDay to ($gameDate.getDay() +2)%7

it seems like you have used this " set datingDay to getDay() + 2 " more than once. this will cause trouble for events on Fridays and Saturdays because getDay() + 2 would then give you 7 and 8 while getDay() has a range of 0 to 6

(20 - $gameDate.getHours() ) lte 2 and (20 - $gameDate.getHours() ) gte 0, also for this line it seems the event would happen between 6pm to 8pm, is this the intended trigger time?

Thanks for this feedback. I'll have to look this over and work on it. Assuming your fixes work which I think they will then all is well though it won't fix the issue for players who are already past that point.

I probably should tie the dates to the total game days variable I use instead of the days of the week. That'd make my life a lot simpler, I just didn't think about it at the time.

In regards to the burden you have to carry I wanna express my sympathy and that obviously everything related to SoSF is a secondary concern. Despite everything I continue to hope your private situation takes a turn for the better or in the very least that there will be a gentle end to the uncertainty and pain.

Just want to pass along my deepest condolences for your situation. I went through a similar situation recently, and I know how awful it is. Make sure to take time for yourself, be kind to yourself, and to accept help from family and friends. It is so shitty but it will get better, amigo, I promise.

So, I realized when looking at this that I'm a bit of an idiot sometimes. First, your solution is exactly right. But secondly, it's not needed. I just need to set that variable to 1 and call it a day.

The whole reason there is a calculation at all is because in very early versions of the game the start just yeeted you straight into the sandbox and you could wander around at will. I had hints to go see Lisa's parents but it didn't happen automatically like it does now so I had to do that as a calculation to take into account I didn't know what day a player might visit them on.

After I redid the opening to the game to make it more directed, I never updated that code. When I went to set up Ray's blackmail on Saturday I just...uhhh...copied and pasted my old code without thinking about it. So now I just explicitly set it to 1. I also added a fix in for those that have it still at 8 that would happen during sleep, though a person would need to replay from the start of last update to get it.

And yes, 6-8pm is the time I planned on. I wanted players to be able to show up a bit early if they wanted.
