xmen only had jean and rogue? what about storm? sure, im a bigger fan of her rocker look, but she still looks great, same with jubilee. add to that psylock who was a bombshell back then, mystique and pretty much any comic chick you want and you have a solid cast on par with the DCAU.The problem with using a Marvel cast is that, blatantly false argument about DC having a better roster of women aside, is that there's less nostalgia for it. Marvel doesn't have a singular iconic animated universe from the 90s and early 00s to pull from. Only Spider-Man and the X-Men animated series crossed over with any regularity and Spider-Man basically only had MJ and Black Cat, and X-Men only had Jean Grey and Rogue. The other 90s Marvel series that existed in the same universe as X-Men and Spider-Man either didn't have iconic character designs or didn't feature many women. The problem isn't that there are less iconic women in Marvel and more that DC simply did and still does a far better job with animated series than Marvel.
even the story can be setup easily, like someone comes back in time and try to corrupt the female cast, in order to setup a victory in the future, someone like mister sinister or even apocalypse. or, if you want something diferent, make a new character sent by cable, because of his power(something like, he is one of the few capable of surviving an alien virus that will destroy humanity), so he is sent to impregnate the female cast so they can give birth to a next gen xmen capable of surviving.
the potential is there.
