For me, yes and yes.
I really like this game so far, and have enjoyed what I have played but unfortunately I have to give this game up for now. My laptop can't run the animations well on this game. A couple animations work fine, then my computer just lags for the rest. I have tried the image cache multiple times almost no change, I have tried the compressed version, a little better but still not great, so idk. My laptop can run ripples, eternum and a bunch of other games fine, so I don't know why this game is a problem. I guess i just have to wait until I get a new laptop, or something changes with this game in the same way ripples and there animations. I will be excited to play this game one day becasue it is very good.
Yeah, I've heard this a few times. Aside from the shear number of animations (Which I'm fairly sure is higher than any of the games you mentioned, though I can't confirm that.), I'm really not sure what causes the lag. It's literally just playing .webm files. I have noticed that the issue is one that has been exclusively reported by laptop users, but it's still bizarre that my game seems so much laggier. I've had a brief look into what ripples has apparently done, but not properly yet. I do hope to get the issue sorted at some point, but for now I have no idea at all what causes it. I'll probably have another look into whatever changed with ripples once I'm done with the next update.

Various things can cause lag in renpy games
An easy check is to change the default renderer and see if things improve.

Until the moment of my gameplay, my only doubt is why Riley was extremely shy after the beginning of the game with Cassie's arrival, before that she even sat on his lap in a towel... then she was like "no, what is that?? I can't", it was like Cassie trying to create good scenes and Riley just saying "no", and at a certain point in the game even the mc comments on this fact saying that eventually the reason would become clear, but until now I don't even know. .

I don't use a laptop, and I started having the same problem after a certain amount of time and game progress, it only started in the menus, however, but I feel like it's not improving
The game is really good. I like the writing style and had some good laughs (especially with the improvides draw scene... And the Director is probably my favorite, I just love over-the-top side characters, because I am a simple man with a simple humour).
Currently I have a save for the Slave-Route and one for the Romance-Route. The Slave-Route is also quite light (at least for now), so it is not like the girls are treated badly or anything. It will make it more difficult for me to have my "optimal" playstyle, because I like aspects of both routes and there are most likely things of the Submission-Route I also like.
E.g. I like Sashas character and being her Ghost Buddy, but I also like her Slave-Route. Riley is cute and probably someone for the Romance or Submission Route, but her Slave-Route is also top notch. Even Akemi seems to be suitable for all three routes, even tho she comes off cold. Meanwhile, I dont see Olivia on anything else than a Slave-Route, this bitch pisses me off. Which is the whole point of her I guess, haha.
Anyway, great work of the Dev, I will certainly leave a rating.

I thank you for the kind comments. I would say that if you like the idea of being Sasha's ghost buddy, but also like the punishment stuff, sub route is the way to go. She's the only current example of a character whose main story gets basically entirely skipped if you choose slave route, simply because I cannot think of any reason that MC would actually want to go on ghost hunts with her if he saw her as nothing but a sex object. Ghosts hunts are what she wants, but what she wants isn't important to slave MC.
That said, the elements of her story which would be unaffected by MC's lack of involvement will still play out in whatever way they would play out given the circumstances, and will be featured on her slave route. Her sub route still lets you go on the ghost hunts, still lets you collar her, and still lets you punish her. The content is a little less dark thematically and in the writing, but yeah, that's how it is with her. General rule regarding the content is that because of how the writing is planned, avoid the slave routes for any girls you care about in any sort of affectionate sense. Slave MC will not develop affection for his girls, because he sees them as property.
I would say that depending on how dark you're hoping things get, you may or may not be disappointed. Both the sub and slave routes will feature more extreme content than that which is currently in the game, but I do have a limit for what I intend to include, partially dictated by not wanting to get patreon on my ass, and partially just the limits of what I actually have any interest in writing/rendering. Lots of orgasm denial, forced orgasms, more spanking, paddling, psychological stuff, predicament porn, public humiliation, etc... All kinds of stuff.
My limit is mostly stuff I just consider to be straight up gross. I'll include a list below of stuff I have no plans to include in the game, which may disappoint some, or provide relief to others. No idea, I just don't like to mislead.
