It's a scraper API that looks at steam data to determine how many have been sold or bought. Back in 2018 Steam hid the exact numbers of games sold however so it's more of a guesstimate at this stage but I'd take this 20k sold over your 250k sold simply due to how many current people are playing the game, which is 1,700 people. Since it only came out last week and if it did sell more than 200k copies, there would be more than 1,700 people playing. You don't see a 99% drop off in players inside of a week, especially for a game as highly publicized as this.
Judging by how many steam reviews there are is a false metric since it can be easily wrong. Take Greedfall for example, Steamspy says it sold 500k to 1M copies. Your estimate of 41 copies sold per review at 10k reviews put total sold at 420k.
Link to article saying the company sold over a million copies.

What you're essentially doing is what Harold Camping did for his end of the world predictions and pulling numbers out of nowhere with figures that makes no sense to the actual value that is way off of what it should be.

As for Subverse itself, 2 million raised in kickstarter, be generous and say 20k bought through steam which means about 700k raised though that. Total budget be generous again and say $3 mil. Certainly more reasonable than your 7 mil budget don't you think? There is no way this project has generated that much of a budget, simply for the fact if it did they would have hired actual fuging devs to work on the game, not make it some space shot em up that a grad student could make for finals.
:D This game is the Second Ranked Game on the Top Seller Ranklist :D so it is possible that over 200k has already bought this game becaus the first rank is Outriders an Both Games has Topped Valheim wich has more than 1 million sells and this Month over 150k... it was on the First place and got kicked to the 4. place ....

FOWcoins? whaaaa whaaaa whaaaa....

Yeah imagine someone come up with a way where people can pay for adult entertainment (games, whatever), that isn't allowed in their respective countries....
it's called piracy, imagine wanting to buy subverse unironically lmao

FOWcoins, heh totally not shady and totally trustworthy new blockchain bitcoins people, just so you know, the founder of FOW is already pretty well endowed in his pockets with this stuff, make of that what you will
While I share your opinion that cryptocurrency is shady, you should actually read the whitepaper on FOWcoin. The tl;dr is that it's a stablecoin (pegged at 1 coin to 1 USD, so it can't be speculated on) and the mining rate will not be affected by number or power of GPUs; basically it's going to be an anonymized store credit that you can accrue over time and would only want to buy if you actually have something on the store you want (and you're in a country that won't allow you to buy from them).

Hmm.. anybody experienced a quest issue at the beginning of the act 2? There was a mission marked planet. I flew there, left click, "oh, forgot something" hit the back button, but the after quest scene starts... I went through the cinematic, fighting with the Huntress... but there are no more quest, and the planet mark that step as completed...

If they plan to release things they can't sell on steam at some point, this might help to avoid getting cut off by payment providers.

There were a few planets where they would just have something like 'Event' listed and you'd click on it and that was it - it would just have some text toward the bottom where it would say you found some loot or something, but no battle went with it, etc. That's my guess on what you ran into, there, since you said all the planets are marked done, now.

Nope... it was an actual quest. There are this events, ground battles and space battles. And main quests. I selected it, but didn't start, hit the back button instead, but the game count as a finished quest.

Almost forgot about FOW last 2 years, since i told their ass licking shills on /fow/ - "from current fow its gonna be meh at best and they will scam you *looking at their graveyard of patreon funded projects and countless delays*". Subverse just go air recently and i'm not disappointed - typical cringeworthy level of FOW writing still here, some minigame fillers you can buy on steam for the price of toilet paper, and 20(?) minutes of ultra vanilla 5sec loops with no interactivity at all and same girls in different skins, great f deal for £1.8M. On the other side - they released it and not just run away with cash. Well, they sure did it, but some money was spent on this. Would be better if their bakers not treated it like Michelangelo's The Creation of Adam of porn games.
Edit: holy f they sell this on steam for 30$, just applause to their business model

Well, unfortunately I can't fight with the keyboard and mouse, at least not quickly and dynamically. I would need an easy level of difficulty. Otherwise, Lets Plays are sure to be on Pornhub soon.

Well there is a lot on Pornhub. It's an indi-game. Most of it is long dialogue, then arcade action and a few sex scenes. These are a bit like the MeetN'Fuck games, first slowly, then faster and then cum. So it is not an interactive film with arcade action elements like the previous films from StudioFow. Well, I'm sorry who has invested money there now.
