So if they don't deny something its true, but if they do say something about another event, you have to be hesitant about it?

So if they did deny it, would you even take that as true, or just be as hesitant now?
If they don't deny it for years then it's safe to assume it's on purpose. It wasn't 1 comment from one person, half of the people on Steam discussion made the comparison to Mass Effect. It's impossible they didn't know about it. The only logical explanation is that they didn't deny it on purpose.

And if they say something out of the blue that puts them in good position and that something is impossible to confirm it's not unusual to have doubts.

That's not on them to deny it though, that's on ya'll that chose to overhype and overexpect.

Afaik it been said the loyality quests with the waifus would be like the loyality missions you had with your crew in ME2, just ending in hot sex. If people expected a ME2 clone, well that on them.

Seeing the gameplay elements in the store page up front, I sure as hell didn't expect a ME2 clone...

You are right, but they would deny it if they care about they supporters as they claim they do. That's why refusing to correct people on that comparison makes me doubt they words about refusing money from someone because of possibility of hurting supporters.

Its really weird seeing folks pretend this is a dime a dozen game, like there's more just like this. There isn't. Find us a game with full voice acting, cinematic cutscenes, and two distinct gameplay models that are actually like a game and not something as simple as match-3 or the default RPGmaker combat.

Find me a game like Shards of Eradine: beautiful drawn graphics, pokemon style gameplay, original UI and plenty of sex scenes. It's one of it's kind.

Oh wait, but the game is a fucking disaster. It's so bad it has mostly negative on Steam, for a porn game that's quite an accomplishment. Huh, maybe, just maybe, being the only one of it's kind doesn't mean anything and what matters is if the game is good or not?

Three Charms, the game that costs 2$ on dlsite is among my top 10 porn games I ever played. Dev made interesting characters and very interesting story. And it doesn't have full voice acting or cutscenes. It didn't have 2 millions to work with or 12 people in team. I wouldn't say it's one of it's kind, but it's good, and that's what is important.

Show us a SNES bullet hell game, in 2021, with a single layer of ship upgrades and 3 alt fires using VN layout to tell it's story trying to justify a $30 pricetag on it's 5 hour runtime. Y'know... that hasn't been pilloried.

There is a literal graveyard of $5 steam games far more mechanically complex utilizing the two combat systems of gameplay they did nothing unique with but strip down to their barest form. The only difference between this and those is the AO rating you're hiding behind.

As a porn game it's bad. It fails to meet any baseline expectation of narrative and content design. Full stop. No ones even debating this outside of "it's early access" as if it wasn't a year past it's deadline to be released in full to backers.

As a videogame it's pathetic, and it's not just being held to the standard of or compared to Hgames that just like subverse use mingames, which is all this combat is, as a cheap excuse to not have proper trainer or relationsim playloops. It's also being held to the standard of games on the platform they posted it to. Steam. And as a shmup-bullethell shooting game it is trash.

They decided they were going to be judged on the bigboy scale of a "the first AAA hgame" and held up not to F95 but the standard of normal indie games.

And to the "they're pro consumer guys" point being bandied
>They designed their game intro around a 2 hour tutorial

by the time you get into the game you're past the point of no return. You can't refund it, and only past the 2 hour mark do the training wheels come off and you truly realize the lack of mechanical and narrative complexity of Suckverse and it's pathetic early access state after 2 years and your fresh $30.
40% of the games runtime is the intro to saddle you with the game and pricetag. They're literally worse than the "suits" they wouldn't "betray us" to in the headcanon from design decisions and pricing structure like this.

This game as pitched, much less what they were delivering, would never be worth a $40 BBB pricetag.
That price point this LITERALLY would have to be ME2 with porn. 1st or 3rd person gunplay combat loop and using unreal to give you a ship to walk around like a pornagraphic equivalent of outer worlds, replete with MassEffect-Dragonage-Fallout style companion mechanics and narratively established reasons to shoehorn in the monster sex.
>inb4 how do you make that on only 2 mil
You can't, which is why Suckverse is an indie shump-bullethell game with VN segments that can't justify it's sticker price. Not even with porn, which is one of the games main complaints not selling points.

I thought it was going to struggle at $20 honestly as an indie priced title, but at $30 "discounted" they were really squeezing blood from the stone and probably sent a hell of a lot of potential customers right here to stare at that 2.5/5 rating and some honest discourse they couldn't moderate. There is a reason why after the backer keys stopped counting as "sales" subverse fell off the fucking map... and it's probably that ludicrous scummy pricetag. That decision alone could have cost them the cash injection to even finish the game.

Lol I guess you don't have standards.
Why compare this game to DAZ VNs btw? Compare it to other $2 million projects... oh wait.

This game is not as fun as other games I've played that have way less money put into them, and it's a shame because it's a big $2 million project.
First of all, I like those VN types of games, I have played some in these weeks and the sex scenes are enjoyables thanks to the history behind them, like a hentai manga. What I was comparing was the quality of these, because come on, between static images that change automatically or by a click and full 3d animation, even being only loops, There is quite a difference in quality, right?
Now, you said to compare it to other games that have the same amount of money invested, well ... Let's compare this version with the first of Summertime Saga or the first of Wild Life, two incredible games, but they did not have much content in their first versions and now they are the first things you could think of, if you like them obviously, when someone asks you about sex games.
And before you go out with the excuse of `` But they didn't have 2 million dollars at the beginning '', I want you to think for a moment about all the expenses that Studio Fow had to do. A bunch of VA's, which are not cheap when paying for HOURS of dialogue, ask 26regionSFM how much he had to pay Pixie Willow for just one hour of dialogue. All 3d animators, people who make music and sounds, programmers, etc.
I mention all this, because seeing as you are also a game developer, I think you understand that in a project so large and with such quality, 2 million disappear quickly. I mean, even the fucking backgrounds of the ship are fully animated like your base in the last two XCOM games.

Look, i'm not saying that criticizing them is forbidden, this entire thread is the proof of why they should have focused on the sexual section of this first version or directly made it public when they had the second complete act. But that did not justify throwing hate at them as if they had released the final version, when it is just the first.

Peace and have a good day sir.

anyone know how many chapters long the game is and how many chapters we already got in the early access?
I think this early access build has 5 or 6 chapters and I 'believe' the target number is somewhere in the 20s or maybe around 30. I remember them saying the game would be at least 30 hours long, also. Hope this helps.

The $30 price tag isn't for 5 hours, it'll be for 30, when its done. That's how early access goes. You are more than welcome to wait for a complete title and a $40 price point. Otherwise, stop bitching about the price. Cuz 4-5 now is still more than most adult games will get ya.

Amazing you think that was the one thing you could hone in one while ignoring the rest actively refuting you. They're being judged as what they are. A bad early access title like the thousands of indie shovelware shmup gapes before it.

6 chapters plays in 3 hours. The extended unneeded intro designed to push people past the refund period was 2 hours. Thats your mk1 5 hour first build. Do the math on how many hours 22 chapters will play. This will, on it's best day, be a "20 hour" but far more likely 12-15 hour game with a good 60% of that being from not skipping the voiceacting. Any longer and it'd literally be from nothing more than 10 hours of pointless minigame grind.

You could argue, out of sheer greed and a captive audience, they could price it higher for the pornographic content. But since they're all about sticking it to the corpos and not selling out... see how your words and their actions/price structure don't line up? Although it's a rather moot point, no ones biting at $30. As they shouldn't.

Subverse in it's ideal form is a $20 bracket indie game on merit of it's gameplay, complexity, and length.
>it's nowhere near it's ideal form

what the fuck is up with all the loading screens? do I really need a loading screen to go between the Mary Celeste ship rooms and to start a conversation with a character? Even from the overworld map to the ship, shouldn't these things be preloaded and ready to go at any second? This is really killing the pace of the game for me.
And what's with the timer between dialogue boxes? Was this made to be read by dyslexic people?
Additionally, are the pre-rendered cutscenes and models to be set at that resolution, or will there eventually be an upscaled/HD pack?

EDIT: As fun as it is to bash publishers like EA for being soulless zombies of the almighty dollar, with every self funded/kickstarter/patreon/subscribestar project that comes to this absolute disgraceful state of missed deadlines, unrealistic expectations and promises, and the eventual drip-feeding of 'content' is slowly beginning to make me appreciate their iron grip on projects ever more.

Are you implying that this game has complex combat? Yes, distinct it is key world. They do not overlap at all... Making them pointless. Slapping together few things dose not mean it that they are working well. You could watch entire game on youtube and have same experience as any other that played it.

Insted of shilling all resources on VO and videos they could spare few dollars on commissioning game designer that would stitch all this together, because clearly they aren't up the task.

I mean, hiring him before hand, because this game dose not looks salvageable cosnidering that they outsourced gamepley elements.
