I mean it certainly has the big monster fugging, heck some scenes even use the big boy Bacchus from the end of Kunoichi 2, it’s just more consensual and not so mindbreak-y FOW stated they aimed to do something not so dark, not wanting to chance it being removed from steam.

The comedy is subjective, but it knows when to take a backseat when shit gets serious. This is about setting up a rebellion to overthrow a controlling empire of mind control powered abstinent aliens

And I wouldn’t worry about the films, fow knows what brought them their reputation. The game is an adventure, but it’d be silly to put all your eggs in one basket. The intention afterwards is to have a film and game division running, though given the trials of this one, wouldn’t surprise me if the next was much further away.

But hey we’ll have UE4 made films to look at in the meantime. Considering what they could with SFM, can only imagine how good they’ll look with an engine often used for the games themselves.

If they ever get that film division up, I suspect a lot of folks will be happy to get back onboard.

It’s a when :p half the benefit of doing the game is spending time learning and using the engine they’ll make their films in going forward.

So instead of the upward curve of quality from Lara in Trouble to Kunoichi 3, they’ll already be at the latter level by the time the game’s done :)

Eh he could get a little overboard and personal at times, which kinda takes away from me trying to keep things calm and rational.

Lest this forum just turn into a repetitive ‘it’ll never be finished’ run. Which has only been going for…3 years now.
It's been 3 years now? We could have had at least 3 movies instead of this game? Man, what a waste of time and resources.

I wouldn't call establishing your own IP and training your animators in the engine all future films will be in, thus skipping the skill difference between their first SFM film and their last, a waste of time.

Also bears repeating, but this is all technically fulfilling a milestone from their old Patreon anyway.

People didn't pay them to train.

They kind of did, though. Nobody expected them to be professional game designers when they started, learning was always part of the process. Their supporters wanted to see an adult game from the Studio FOW movie makers and they are getting it. If the result is worth the support is a question everybody has to answer for themselves.

I really hope it wasn't those trained animators who recently fled SFOW. AFAIK, we have not many details on that whole situation, right?

No they supported a project. And part of that project is learning a new engine. But that support, as its always been, is optional. Whether or not you did it through Patreon or Kickstarter, they were gonna do what they're gonna do regardless. Them getting kicked off of Patreon was a factor, but this would've been happening no matter what anyway.

I doubt they'll say whom or why they left, but the names in the latest dev blog are pretty much the same, so I have my doubts it was animators. Could be some of the game-side of things, which could've been for various reasons. Maybe a 'AAA' company came a-calling and they couldn't refuse a bigger paycheck.

No, most people bought that crap on steam. And on steam its sold as a game, not sponsorship for a dev team.
Well now that you're actively admitting you clearly don't like it...why ya still here? and aye it is sold a game. In development. And its not like their whole team is new to it, remember they hired professionals with launched game experience to aid in the matter.

You're wanting so bad for their films again, and this is all gonna lead to even better looking ones in the future. They had to work all kinds of miracles to make SFM look decent, and this'll only help things.

The elephant in the room is that FOW lost the only thing that made them notable. Three years later and the only thing we have to distinguish them from any other generic vanilla porn studio is the memories of what we lost.
