What you expect means nothing, you are not the one that employ the people and pay the wages.

There is no Chinese localization at all yet. These bumfuckers got it in their head SFOW is pro Taiwan, and don't want any Taiwanese to do the translation and gone all political about it. It's a bunch of self entitled aholes. Anyone that read the news piece about the Chinese localization update see this is not the case. All these Chinese players hide behind vpn's, and go ballistic when SFOW say they see no traffic data from mainland China.

Checking the latest positive reviews it feels like a culture war with people hitting back at the Chinese mob. People giving positive reviews not necessary because they want to give one, but because they dislike what the Chinese doing atm.

I always though they are being paid, there is no way someone defends a game that much, not even a AAA game have that kind of defense, it is just a game FFS ._. (Not a porn game as promised )

I have a feeling most of them haven't moved out of their parents house, or even had their first proper paid job yet.

It's rather simple math. Look up the industry standards for wages when it come to coders, animators, game devs (whatever). Check the size of the dev team. Look at the "budget". Account for time spent since end of kickstarter.

They roughly had 2 millions dollars from Kickstarter.

From Steam it must be something between 4 and 6 millions.

Steamdb only give a estimate based on Steam activity though. So how much they made on Steam sales not absolute. Valve take 30% of the sales though. Valve's cut on steam is a bit larger than what Patreon take. A game need to sell for over 10 mill USD on steam for Valve to drop their cut to 25%.

Seeing how Steam did hide, or remove all negative reviews Metro Exodus got due to the epic exclusivity deal. I guess its just a matter of time before the Chinese bomb get removed from Subverse as well.

some people enjoy Call of duty, some don’t

many people like Fortnite, others see it being the reason why we’re never getting a new Unreal Tournament (GODDAMN IT).

If they just watch scenes by other means than play the game, or cheat to get the points to unlock scenes without actually have to play the game bypassing the "effort vs reward". The whole concept of it being a game is lost to them though.
