Game was advertised as a porn game that's akin to an adult Mass Effect (described in terms of themes and space settings, not gameplay) in their own words. Just because they changed their advertisement on steam by editing the store page a month before EA's release doesn't change the fact that they got people hooked on their original advertisement. All their early early statements talk about it as a porn game. We've had this conversation before and I've even showed you screenshots of their old statements. The best you and the other dude could come up with was a single youtube interview of one of the lead devs saying a single line that you guys hooked onto to justify this narrative. It's become your ultimate excuse to shrug off any form of critique.

You sound like company's mouthpiece/promotor, saying obvious things, excusing their every single fuckup while also not giving any criticism. It's every single PR talk ever. I do not discuss stuff with people on a payroll so, yeah. You may ignore my posts from now on lol.
He's a backseat moderator even in their discord. He's that deep of a fan of it, so what else can you expect?

Actual StudioFow staff haven't supported his kind of "This is a game with porn, not a porn game" arguments at all. He's just hyper fixating on some interviews where he can conveniently take some words and push a narrative that allows him to disregard critique, like he's their personal PR machine.

We've destroyed this argument countless times throughout this thread's history , but like every other excuse or argument they make, they just pretend that never happened and start repeating again after some months. One example: https://f95zone.to/threads/subverse-v0-3-0-studio-fow.77900/post-6797602

Right…except the part where I’ve said plenty of times that I’ve agreed that the porn could better. Also if I was being paid for this…can’t even think of a joke to properly mock the situation

Saying obvious things means your arguments are so fragile, explaining them is well…obvious.

Sorry for making sense in this den of negativity because a game you aren’t paying for isn’t up to your standards.

if you’re actually an owner, why aren’t you airing your opinion somewhere it’s actually read, like the official public discord?

if I’m a broken record, what does that make y’all that keep complaining about the same things? They’ve heard the feedback about the smut. But again that is not something that happens instantly.

Why do you think I've never posted feedback there before? I'm pretty sure I've told you once I did. Why does it matter to you where I discuss the game anyway? The point is, I have paid for the game.

Oh, that's an easy ignore then.

On the topic of Subverse - I'll never understand how Studio FOW agreed on telling the story mostly through VN style while also disjointing the number 1 selling point of the game - sex - from it.

It's MIND-BOGGLING. Ground combat - happens during the story, has narrative attached to it. Space combat - same. Sex? Nah 99% is in the separate menu, disjointed from everything. In a game where PORN is it's main selling point. Characters like to talk about fucking, but any of that happening as an natural occurence? Nah, we don't like to do that. You can play some pandora animations if you like.

Based on their posts and original mock-ups of the game before it drew closer to EA, they scrapped and changed a lot of things they originally teased. This is why a roadmap is so important to have. Their staff hates the idea of having a real one made, so there is a clear lack of direction going on. Funny enough, they flip flop between saying they had a roadmap during it's funding period and not having a roadmap after EA was announced. They've flip flopped on a lot of things since their initial pull funding campaign launch.

Plans obviously changed here:

So that’s another one lost to the flock. Ah well can’t say I didn’t try. Sucks that folks would rather be pessimistic than optimistic, but can’t always change people’s minds. But I can discuss without slinging insults, while taking in all the shill/paid/secret employee fire willingly.

I am well aware the game is not perfect. That isn’t in question, but what in development game is? Opinions are fine but there is a line between constructive criticism and claiming the devs are lazy or taking shortcuts. Do you know what goes into the redoing of a scene? I don’t, but I sincerely doubt that it is as simple as a cut and paste action. Far as I know none of us have made a game, let alone in an engine like UE4. So what goes on behind the scenes isn’t something we can truly factor into it.

What I can see is a developer that actively reads everything on its discord feedback channel, that has kept up its monthly updates, that explained its large gap between launch and its first major content addition. That acknowledged its faults and stated how it wanted to progress moving forward. And has successfully made the projected timeframe for the next update.

How many ’AAA’ games have we seen have had things go wrong and the devs blame their QA department, or crunch their workers to make a timeframe, and will go dark for months or even years before updating their customers?

This is why I am a fan of FOW’s, because they are so antithetical to what typical game devs have become. They aren’t discussing the dlc because the base game isn’t done, there’s no season pass, no microtransactions for PP points, no lootboxes to determine what scenes you unlock, no episode format to releases so you have to buy each new girl. You pay the already discounted price now, and you’re entitled to a full game. A GAME that happens to have adult content in it.

Even if you were to remove the Pandora system and its scenes, you’d still have a story about a raunchy crew attempting to overthrow an abstinence-based empire. But it’s there as a reward for spending time with the ladies, unlocking not just smut, but personal conversations with them that reveal more about them, eventually culminating in a personal quest that’ll cap off with a longer animation that you’ve been thirsting for so much. That’s called creating anticipation.

Just try to consider that before you equate the work of dozens of people down to just 3 second gifs.

You've constantly talked down to others in the past and made self-masturbatory posts about complaints coming from others who haven't paid for the game themselves. You can't act above this after making yourself known as that guy of the thread.

Opinions are fine but there is a line between constructive criticism and claiming the devs are lazy or taking shortcuts.
Because I point out that they've lied, exaggerated, and flip flipped constantly in the past? If they make it a big deal to advertise that their Elaisha patch will contain way more than it'll actually have, you best believe people are going to point that out as lies and exaggerations. They said that update would contain "50+ new pandora scenes", while more than half of those scenes were duplicates. Around half of that half were duplicates of scenes already released in the initial EA launch.

Can anyone tell me why they'd drip feed only one of the Equinock thigh sex scenes with Lily in this patch, only to release the same exact scene in the next patches with the other girls in her place?

Do you know what goes into the redoing of a scene? I don’t, but I sincerely doubt that it is as simple as a cut and paste action. Far as I know none of us have made a game, let alone in an engine like UE4. So what goes on behind the scenes isn’t something we can truly factor into it.
To make the duplicate scenes with model swaps only require swapping the model files and making some minor position changes to limbs to avoid clipping. It's not that complicated. You don't need to be a game dev to know this. The fact that you think there would be tons of work for literal model swap scenes with the only changes being different sound effects being played and finger positions (Taron's hands are different from the other girls) is very telling. Then again, this wouldn't be the first time you've kind of just guessed and said things based on those guesses to defend Subverse.

How many ’AAA’ games have we seen have had things go wrong and the devs blame their QA department, or crunch their workers to make a timeframe, and will go dark for months or even years before updating their customers?
Other 'AAA' games have a roadmap and are usually screwed by things from upper management, such as unfair deadlines. When those larger company 'AAA' games screw up badly and blame those that shouldn't be blamed, we don't give them a pass. StudioFow may not be randomly blaming their QA departments, but they are playing it very loose with their PR. They know Pandora has been a touchy subject and refuse to even touch on what they plan to change about it in the future. That's very shady marketing.

I won't even address the rest of your post, since it's just masturbatory drivel about them not doing the most scummiest stuff other 'AAA' games do, despite them failing to do a lot of bare minimum stuff the average not scummy 'AAA' games have. When they stop dodging at every turn how they'll address how they plan to change the biggest complained about feature in the game, or stop padding out their patch notes to make them sound larger than they actually are, then we can pretend their not being shady about things.

EDIT: It's not about them not being perfect. I've said in the past that I can give them a free pass on a lot of things. The issue we have is how much they overpromised and continue to overpromise. They've even developed the token PR move of saying they'll fix a much talked about feature, but give no date, roadmap, or hint as to how they plan to do it.

In Fairness, Studio FOW has always been toxic toward fans and supporters who post constructive criticism. I was a supporter for a long time until I got fed up with their abusive attitude. They would either delete negative reviews or attack and admonish those supporters with negative criticsms and let their fanboys gang up on them.

Just played the update. New girl Taron has 11 pandora scenes, 1 "plot" scene with free-ish camera and a few interactivity elements. Honestly I don't understand this obsession with free camera and for this particular scene it feels like a waste of effort.
Only 2 penetration sex scenes with Taron and Captain, both looks meh and we don't see her pussy there. Other scenes are foreplay, lesbian, mantics stuff. Barely a fap material to me, and while I REALLY want to love this game, it's the worst update so far. Feel free to throw rotten eggs and tomatoes at me.
