I have made it a rule to answer figurative questions in this thread in the most serious manner. Although, it's unlikely my credit, but questions like “Is this game abandoned” seems have been asked less often lately. This is not a literal, but a figurative question, it is clear that he deleted everything "hot" because of the steam version, and as i understand that in the second season everything "hot" for the future content will not be deleted, but when will this be?
For me, this is not an improvement, this is a downgrade!
It’s just a shame, because his games are very good, but need to wait a whole year to play new content, while a lot of things will be redone, and i have to start the game from the very beginning every time!
Nobody knows when the first chapter of S2 will be released but Ocean. Judging by the latest devlog, he has already done half the number of renders of the average chapter for S2CH1, but all his numbers should be treated with a grain of salt. Anyway, this is good progress, given the parallel preparation for Steam release and the recent WiAB release.
I understand that you (and me too) want the story to continue, but from a developer's point of view, a successful release on Steam is much more important now, and I think that is where he is now applying his main efforts, polishing the full version of the first season.
And why the Nami preview from devlog is a rework? It's a new render made for a new S2CH1 chapter.
