You know, we are talking about 10 years.
So??

I started reading the series A Song Of Ice And Fire when the first book came out in 1996.

I'm looking forward to the next book in the series - which has taken years longer to reach fans than we hoped for - 28 years after the release of the first book.

It is part of the price we pay for supporting someone with a grand vision.

Ocean/Summers Gone is the most ambitious dev/AVN I am supporting with my $ and my time.

I don't expect everyone to agree with me/my view of Ocean/SG any more than I expect everyone to be willing to wait for the next book in the series that served as the basis for GOT.

Feel free to respond as above every 6 months for the next ten years, if you feel this is the best use of your time.

I'll be here, on this thread, sharing what I enjoy about Summers Gone, and I believe my time will be well spent... :)

Cheers!! :coffee:

So you were here in October, disappointed about an update that had no lewd scenes, even though SG Season 1 Clearly has no lewd scenes.

The very first screen is a bit of a giveaway on this...

View attachment 3360309

Now you are back less than 4 months later with false claims about the dev/SG ....

Ocean Never said that the new hardware would 'make the update cycle a few months' Nor is it 'about year between each update as usual.'

The new hardware Does give him the ability to create more immersive images for SG and WIAB - something his older hardware limited.

If you are actually interested in SG, each dev log gets posted on this thread and you can read the specifics for yourself.

If, on the other hand, the facts get in the way of what you are posting, then that is a different story...

Cheers!! :coffee:
I've seen it mentioned in 1 of the dev logs that new hardware would allow him to increase the number of updates per year.

And the ingame image says "no sex scenes", fine no sex yet. But not to the point where it is dry. Some eye candy would be good, except the dev thinks some random boob showing is something good without the hotness factor. Only worthy scene in the whole of S1 was the hot tub one.
So no, facts aren't getting in the way of what I'm posting. If the dev wants to make this a full time profession and wants big monthly contributions, he should deliver.
And barely anybody cares about cinematic transitions in a porn game which is probably what is hogging the hardware trying to create it.
cheers

Since chapter 3 I'm still waiting:
1. Sasha and Nami have the same earring and what is the story behind them.
2. Nika decided to join the basketball team, in order to get into it you need to show yourself well in a game against the main team.
3.what about the family heirloom that Bella stole....
4. Nika decided to move with Mila and Robin to a new apartment.
5. In Chapter 3 it was said that the women's team would return in a couple of days. In reality, 3 years have already passed and the team has not arrived.
6. Nika decided to join the yoga club.
7. Continuation of the story with the women's toilet.
8. A provocative photo taken by a reporter.

If necessary I can continue the list. Unfortunately, during these 3 years, nothing important happened that could reveal the plot. If you want, we can analyze each chapter together.
Exactly, barely any plot development + barely any lewd scenes for an "adult game". We can't have both or atleast 1 of them.

Plenty of eye-candy on display imo...

Deliver what exactly? Have you counted how many updates there are between this and WiAb in the time frame they have been out? Far more than many developers actually.
barely anybody cares about cinematic transitions in a porn game
Speak for yourself. I want a visual novel..sex scenes are largely unimportant for me.

ha, what are you on about this game not making "big" money... Ocean has more than 1400 subscribers just on patreon. Even if you just calculate with the lowest tier, that's more than 4k a month (and I'm pretty sure many people are in higher tiers)... in reality I think it might be closer to 10. Also there is subscribestar. When S1 releases on steam (and probably itch) those numbers will go up significantly. So stop talking nonsense.

Also it's not a porn game, learn the difference. It's a visual novel with adult elements.

*Plenty of eye candy? with no context and just boobs out, might as well just stay dressed. It is like going to a nudist beach and everyone is naked, that's no eye candy, just nude people.

*and yes, counted the updates between both games. With the amount the dev is earning and the hardware he has, you would expect atleast 3x the output. A lot of devs on here work with half of what's Ocean getting yet their games are miles ahead.
With the amount of subscribers on both patreon and subsStar, he should atleast afford 1 of his A6000 per month or 1.5 months taking if he is taxed under consideration. No need for bank loans and all that stuff he claims he is applying to.

*And you seem to emphasize on "visual" when you need to focus on "novel", which is the key word here.

* And I know what adult means, and this game doesn't fit the adult rating. In some countries, it would even be rated 13+ just nudity.

Lmao, maybe show where did I mention that the dev is not making big money? Do you even english dude?
I said that the dev should deliver better based on what he is taking.

And with that statement, you're totally wrong. Summer's Gone isn't a porn game, this is a story-focused game with adult elements.

Try again...
Unless the cinematic has a big dramatic effect and is a must, then it would be welcome, instead, the cinematics are used for random scenes that would be better replaced with static renders. Probably saves a few weeks of development. Cinematics should be for unique awe factor moments. But what do you know.

let me quote you, looks like you have a problem with short-term memory:

" If the dev wants to make this a full time profession and wants big monthly contributions, he should deliver. "

The dev is full-time, and your statement "wants big monthly contributions" indicates that you think the dev is in fact not making big monthly contributions. Which is incorrect. But anyway I'll put you on my ignore list now, because you are annoying.

Simple fact of the matter is, the tags show you there's next to nothing lewd, there's a warning that you'll get blue balled if you want the lewds... so did you disobey Nami and Sasha? You're asking for something to be in the game when it's clearly stated it won't be for this season.

Ocean explained why he had to cut the tiny amount lewd scenes that were there. It's up to you whether you believe his reasons or not. A bit of eye candy would mean a lot of voided music contracts and wasted money. I think he chose wisely - a few pics of downstairs aren't worth getting excited about, and avoiding the adult tag gives him a wider audience on steam. Once the release of season 1 is out, he'll have a much better focus for season 2 which will be NSFW, and already has worked out how to deal with the licensing so this doesn't happen again.... but then we'll see everyone complain their favourite girl hasn't had enough screen time... Maybe his new cards (that he only just got) plus the Daz optimisations will see a decent turnover. But until we get past the steam hurdle, everyone is either blueballed or ...somehow enjoying the story for what it is.

Heck, maybe that's Ocean's fetish - blueballing his readers. Can't honestly blame him. People going blue is pretty funny. Maybe the start of the first lewd scene, Nika tries a move on Sasha, and he aunt chokes hime to death. The end ....plus an asphyxiation tag I guess... :sneaky:

I guess we'll see once season 2 kicks into gear. It's pretty pointless wanting it to be different when he's almost finished season one.

And as all the above have said - it's not a porn game. Ocean's specifically trying to avoid that for season one, and he still has enough support from patrons. The number of paying patrons shows he has enough support for his vision, it's just not the same as your vision for the game.

Right: So 24 full updates (for both) in 63 months (if we take both) is an update every 3 months (give or take a few days). So you're saying, he should be (and other developers are) produce(ing) 3x this amount?

Sure...because PG stuff deals with these themes.

You have to consider the cut patreon/SS takes for them self and taxes between 25-42% (depending on the income) here in germany.

Steam takes roughly 30% from a dev, that means:

Season 1 price (roughly)15$
Steam takes 30%5$
Income left for Ocean before taxes10$
Taxes from greedy asshole gov 25%-42%7,5$ - 5,8$

And I'm not sure if the taxes are taken from the base steam price, if this the case we are talking about 6,25$ - 3,7$ income for Ocean per selled copy.

So you stated false interpretation of what I said and then ran away to hide because you don't want to be proven wrong.
You do realize that the contributions/subscriptions are payments so I know the dev is earning a big amount and I imply that in my comment. It means that if the dev still wants to such big amount, he should deliver.
And thanks for proving my point that, even if the dev is full time and making big amount of money, his updates output is that of a part time dev who is barely earning anything and is using this as a hobby.

Finally, a user with a good reply to positive criticism instead of blind bashing ones.
Also, the music that caused licensing issues couldve been easily removed and replaced while keeping such scene. Maybe I missed why, not sure "wanting to keep it SFW" is the case.

And I feel like the dev actually has a fetish of blueballing others or he himself got the dysfunction or smthn.

Another runaway, can't handle the smoke.

The fact that it is 63 months with barely even past season 1 or big story progression is enough to be seen as a red flag and dev working at probably 20% of what he can do. Just milking. We would be lucky if the game is done in the next 10 years with such progress.

And yes, if you emphasize on novel, you'd at least have something to look out for, such as a good plot and progression, even if there is nothing lewd, but nothing is captivating, and it is a slow burn. If it was an actual book, it wouldve been thrown long ago.

If the released chunky updates are for you no big story progression - on two games - then you should work on your mental agility 'cause it looks like you lack the computing power in your brain to process the content of the updates...

And the guy who thinks quantity over quality is something good is telling me I lack computing power xD
Wouldn't mind even half the renders if the progression was worth it.
and the number of renders per update here really doesn't matter and it shows a lack of progression when such numbers only contribute to a total of a couple scenes. We don't need a different render per every line spoken by a character, might as well turn it into a fully animated movie instead.
