I assume you've played the whole first season? I'll use spoilers after the first one, in case you haven't. Stephanie Marla hit's Vic. Maja thinks someone tried to kill Vic at first, but it's a clear accident. In chapter 4.5 at the sleepover at VIc's we find out Melanie Ceril threatened Vic in a way that was life threatening, so Maja has been worried about that. Also knowing that Melanie's sister is the police officer in Ch5, we get the picture that Melanie's sister will probably pull strings to get Melanie off the hook if anything did happen. Currently it's more a case of Maja's paranoia than anyone actually trying to kill her. Marla wasn't, it was an accident.
Also, there's a confabulation aka false memory issue that all of us who've played the game for too long have, because at first this dialogue was undoubtedly related only to the "unloaded gun scene."
Maya is right. Vika is such an important character in the game that of course they wanted to kill her. In fact, Vika is the cure for Nika, Sasha and ... Bella and of course she stands in the way of Leia's plans. So yes, it is connected with the plot. But it was not Melanie or Marla who did it. It was the one Emilio said about while looking at Bella - "She reminds me of someone."
And it would be Bella who appears on the cameras not Mila, that's what I'm saying. There's no proof that it was Mila (who is being sued).

You are right. Emilio is certainly not involved in the incident. When Bella and Nika leave the hairdresser's, Emilio looks after them and says something to his assistant like - I'm glad Bella is still alive, she reminds me of someone. This someone whom Bella reminds Emilio of is our killer.
Are you writing this seriously or are you joking? How could this mysterious assassin observing Nika on behalf of Leia possibly know that this anonymous girl he met on his way to get some buns would pose some kind of threat to her plans?
That is because you are not thinking enough. The mysterious person that Emilio is talking about is Nami from the future who traveled back in time and caused Vic accident because with out it Nika would have died. Now why future Nami looks like Bella ? Because the throuple path is cannon and Bella and Nami merged in a single person called Nalla. It is pretty obvious honestly.

Wait a little with your savings. You don't know everything about Marla... The thing is... She's Summer from the future who went back in time to stop Vic.
But remember that Nika is the trans character - the process of going back in time turned him into Summer who became Marla. That's what Marla wants to do therapy with Nika, to prevent him from going back in time to rescue Summer, which started this whole sordid affair.

Wait, so your saying that Leia saw Vic as a problem while she was a teenager, before Nika had a problem, and sent another teenager (Melanie) to drown her, when Leia has all those thugs she employed for the club?
