Does this mean both DMD and SL will receive simultaneous updates every 6 weeks? Rather than alternating?

It is not a lie. DMD & SL will alternate updates until DMD is finished. Then they will focus only on SL.

And DMD is almost finished.

no it wasn't, once dmd is finished (by xmas 2022 or even summer 2022) they focus on this only until this is finished and then release next game.
