and that's why this dev won't deliver finished game ever

Looks familiar, right ? Good, fucking, riddance.
If you compare the old Sylphia Islands with the last Sylphine version you may notice, that the story gets thinner and thinner. It goes nowhere. At the end of Sysphine 0.24 the "story" consisted of RPG style fights...
I think, that's part of the problem. Glacerose might be an excellent graphics artist, but more important - for me - is a good story, even in a porn game. The HS graphics in Sylphia Islands were already nice and sufficient.

If you visit his Discord it's all about the graphics. Somewhere he wrote, how many assets he has bought. To a certain extent I can understand his passion and the urge to try out all the new objects. For me it seams it goes like: "How can I bend the action to show these nice pictures?" But for a game it should go the other way round: Write a story and afterwards render the illustrations.

Maybe he should just release an album with his pictures?
About the story - and the game - I have a bad feeling...

I am probably in the minority but I would prefer for the story focus on the girls and everyday life than the magic stuff. The latter could be fun but takes a huge amount of time, effort and plot brainstorming and not sure if it is really needed. Maybe magic can be added as an everyday part of life without the transformations or some grand war.
We are at least two. I would also prefer the story focus on everyday life, as it was in the first Sylphia Island version (up to 0.095?) in the beginning.

This is never going to go anywhere. It's constantly going round in circles.

This is one dev i'm 100% confident saying will never complete a game.
Honestly, I enjoyed the game up to the part he introduced the fantasy world. I enjoyed interacting with the characters, and I enjoyed the models. But after nearly 2 years, 3 remakes, I just kinda lost any hope this will ever get finished.
I feel like he had it right on the second try. Then he went and scrapped that build for this one which, as I said was really good up till the fantasy world lol. Not to mention he's scrapping all the characters and their personalities and that's a bit of a buzzkill too as he's ruined my 3 favorites now. I just don't see a point in coming back to it. I'll try it but I don't really see this getting completed, as he's started it over 4 times now. I don't think Glace even knows what he wants from the game anymore.

I'm the opposite. I preferred the fantasy stuff.

There are hundreds of normal games with slice of life stuff, there aren't that many decent fantasy games.

The whole magic and war story was interesting, every day life is boring as fuck I already live that, I want something different.

I kind of liked both. However, I didn't find the combination that appealing. Feels too much like two different games in the same setting rather than a single game with a coherent story.

Glacerose Are you posting the previews of the new (once again) colored hair?
Or did you want a more finalized state?

Just curious.

I enjoyed the buildup to it and everything. My problem was how little we had in the way of the 'fantasy' world. There was no interaction with it bar the princess. My main priority with any game is the interaction with your love interests. Because I'm a very story driven person. It can be cliche or cheesy, that doesn't really bother me. What does is when he scrapped everything and started from the ground up (again) only to include 1 event in this new world, to then scrap it again. He would have been better off not including the fantasy world till he had more to go with it. My draw to this game was the character's uniqueness. And the models of course were gorgeous. Now they just look weird.

Well looks like we have to wait again for new content. Now that we will have a new game to wait on. I was originally a supporter back when it was still sylphia Island the he went into the remake, so I stopped supporting him, saying once he gets back to where he was originally I'd support him again. Then he does another revamp, I was ok with this one as it went to Daz models. Now he's doing another revamp. I can understand his reasoning but honestly looks like I will add this to the list of games that don't get updated past a certain point. I'm genuinely sorry that I feel this way since I really liked the game. But anyways looks like I'll be back to this game in about a year and maybe we will be back to about the same content. Good luck.

personally i was also a fan of island though the story as far as it went was enough for me to at least enjoy the new game even though i was not a fan of the designs. so its at least 2.5 maybe 3 :p though what ever happens happens. i just hope the end result if there is ever one is a good one at this point

I get what you mean--whether we're talking about the drudgery of modern life or the restrictions placed anti-social behavior, we play these games to escape from our real lives.

I have a plan for an urban fantasy, but I don't expect I'll get to it within the next two years. This last version of Sylphine seemed to be "semi-urban" fantasy. Well, given their house, I guess "suburban fantasy" would actually be accurate.

I showed up after the Island version was abandoned so the current is the only one I've known.

So every time I feel like he has settled on the new look another thing changes.
Glacerose is leaving Alex red but now he wants to plump her up to Planetits
At least that's what I saw on Discord

I was trying to stay on his side but man it just never stops

Good luck to you
and to all of you supporters

It gets to a point where it's just not possible to do that.

I wasn't a fan of previous versions but really liked this one so started getting into it, now it's changing again.

It's like you get to a certain point with this game and he remakes it again, it's been a constant thing and it's starting to take the piss a bit.

Sure it's his game and he can do what he wants with it but as a dev I can't take him seriously and I certainly can't advise anyone to support him, in fact I feel the very opposite. I would advise people to avoid supporting him completely. It's clear he doesn't know what he wants to do or what he's doing and has taken a massive shit on his player base several times now.

Honestly, I liked Alex as she was. She was the perfect mix of business and mom. :/ Not even gonna ask for images now.
He literally can't be progressing on the development of the game at this point since he hasn't even settled on the freaking models for the game. If he'd just left the models as they were, and just redid the world building, I wouldn't be as upset with the xth remake of the game. But at this point I don't even come here for the game anymore. I'm more interested in other's opinions than anything else.

I think it's safe to say most people playing liked the models or the very least they liked their fave characters.

Nothing needed to be changed, absolutely nothing.

At this point the only thing that's going to happen is previous fans of certain characters are either going to like the new models or hate them and move on. I don't see how any of that benefits the game or the dev.

I get the feeling - I am used to play "barbie" in an MMO I play. Changing sliders to make it look cooler, more beautiful, more rugged, depending on mood. But yeah, when you want to sell a game, at one point you'll have to settle on the looks, otherwise you'll lose those who liked the previous ones without necessarily finding new support out of nowhere for the new ones. And it will never be finished either - you get tired of the colorful hair this game used to have and settle for natural hair. Then it gets boring, for some change you introduce colored hair again. Wouldn't it also look nice on that character to match their type? Repeat ad infinitum. And somewhere along the line you'll lose support because of the changes. "Planetits" sounds alarming to me ... a major turnoff. There will always be some who will complain about the current state of affairs but you gotta ignore 'em all. And along the line you'll lose support just for the length of the line. And looks aren't the most important stuff. There are really good games out there with imperfect characters and bad ones with amazing renders and animations.

Glacerose has an incredible talent for artwork and the game as before showed that he also can write competently. But while he can do however he pleases I wish he would just stop fiddling with the minor details and get the major stuff underway. Though I understand everybody who fears that won't happen anytime soon.

None of this has benefit Glace at all. I HATE saying that, because I was a huge fan of the game, well, the second to last iteration of it. It had some of the best character models/renders I've seen out of many games. I'm like, 80% most of his original backers are completely gone. He's only proven to be incapable of keeping his word, and making any kind of decision and sticking to it...

I sincerely feel like at this point, the game's just gonna get abandoned, like Sylphia Island. Which only makes me feel worse for his current backers.

Look at it this way, if he's *Still* trying to figure out the character models... At the LEAST, he has to re-render every single scene that said character's in. Which could take weeks to months depending on "how far" he's gotten with the development-- If at all.. At MOST, he hasn't started rendering any of the actual scenes, because he's too indecisive on the models.

Sorry I haven't been on F95 much.

Just wanted to address a few things, not in defense, just explanation.

I'm using sprites in the new game, so changing a character model is really as easy as changing the sprite and whatever few main images are shown, not re rendering the whole characters presence in the game. This is part of the reason I switched to sprites, much less overall images. This doesn't affect my progress through the overall update at all, the only thing that would, would be major story changes, which haven't occurred and wouldn't because to be frank, (and a bit prideful), the current story mesh that I did to fix the issues with Sylphine are pretty bomb.com, as cringe as that sounds.

I only thickened Alex a bit and made her more "voluptuous" and curvy, not a drastic change. The MOST drastic change was a change I had to make to her skin due to an issue found by another user, her skin texture had a horrid issue between her torso and arm texture that I could not remedy, and once you noticed it you would feel the same. It was something that is wrong with the asset itself so I cant do anything, and I would have needed to re-render her sprites anyway. So the body changes were just a opportunity that presented itself.

For reference, this is Alex. I wanted her slightly thicker both for her character and some body diversity. Celeste is short and curvy, but thinner. Gracie is a bit thick but muscular. Serra and Lillian are both average across the board, so I wanted a larger and not muscular character.

All these changes are made from tons of feedback across the users, from Patreon/Discord/Steam and even some people who've taken it to email me directly.

But yeah, just wanted to clarify some things. Thanks all for reading.
