Hey, guys! I've been told the current build was leaked and that some people have issues with progressing in it, and reading through latest replies, I see that is indeed the case. There is a solution though:
If you already talked to Zoey about how to progress, you'll remember that she didn't want to go with you to the Violet Lips Club. You don't need to talk to her again to go there, you can just simply use the map either in your room or at the bus stop to visit the club directly.
EDIT: Actually it seems there's more than one underlying issue as some players did use the map and didn't get teleported to the Violet Lips Club. If that's the case with you, and you are 100% sure you aren't using any mods, feel free to send me your save game in a PM and I'll have a look at it.
I'll make a patch with some more clues, probably forcing the players to look at the map in one of the earlier visits to the apartment instead of just pointing it out like it's the case now, so they know that's an option. Also, adding Zoey on a bike waiting in front of the apartment building if player did Papers Please or The Key Ingredient before True Rulers and maybe some more. Any suggestions about these kinds of helpful pointers are also appreciated.
It's very interesting that this hasn't been an issue with patreons. My hypothesis is they are more invested in the story by default so they have an easier time following it, but looking through this feedback is a good reminder that different players have different levels of investment and that's something that should be paid more attention to.

Rough Review 0.52 (Because Mac version is behind the others)
Overall, fun game. Good dialogue, cool renders, smooth transitions between scenes. Game is set in the 1999, so it's fun to see references to the Y2K scare and all that. Oh, and our protagonist makes references to sparkly vampires... which is silly.
But despite the silliness, there is a good tone to the game. It feels like the best elements of Vampire Masquerade, where power and ability influence a dog-eat-dog vampire society. And you're the poor soul who's just ben dropped into this without warning and little support.
Problems:
-the UI/Menus. I'm a fan of gothic script as much as the next internet dweller... but it's hard to read in large quantities. So maybe a change of font for the main menus and such, particularly if you're going to give us lots of information in the glossaries and other info panels. Otherwise, no one is every going to read that stuff.

You are using/have used an outdated/uncompatible mod. walkyMessages is an exclusive override.
Could you elaborate on this? I'm honestly quite curious.
Are you using any mods? If not, feel free to send me your save game and I'll look at it.

What a great update!
Honestly, Anna's backstory was more common than expected.
The club scene and Ciara was cool. I hope we will visit the club also in the future and have more fun with her and the twins.
She is probably not trustworthy and I don't think she will become main LI unless we side with the Baroness but maybe we can still have fun without that.
Nick and her sister, oh boy!
And finally it seems we are starting to get closer to Zoey. And learn some of her past. Great stuff!
Basically my only worry about this game is that the scope seems to become larger and larger and with the relatively slow updates it will take years to reach some kind of decent conclusion.

yes i have been waiting for the update i am a big fan of Vampire the Masquerade so hopefully this does not get abandoned and hopefully we get to explore the more monstrous nature of vampires at the end of the day they are predators that require blood to survive having the option to obtain it by force or manipulation is key

Can't get to the new content because Zoe is unreachable, she isn't home, the map choices are all closed off, if you do quests in a certain order the game becomes unplayable using the saves from the previous build...
Edit: Luckily for me I saved right before those quests started; a sloppy solution but a solution nonetheless.

if you go to your room there is a red map on the wall where you can access all of the game's missions

Probably wouldn't have solved it but thanks anyways I'm already exploring the new content right about now (the quest gets buggy and gives you impossible condiitons like meeting Zoey before visiting the club even though she is unreachable at the time, there are many ways to get there but none end up with you advancing the plot because it's a bug not a hidden path)

Is the official Walkthrough properly working for this last update ? because I'm not seeing status updates after dialogue choices with Ciara (at the moment)

I couldn't find your comment on how to cheat in the three background choices but I found them in the script.
