  • I fixed the exposure on some of the images that were too dark/under exposed to bring out some detail for those of us not using 1000+ nit monitors.
I'm sorry.. but those pictures did not look good in my 8bit monitor. The color gradient without dithering made all the shadows you lightened look like it was all in 256 colors or something.

The left one is how it all looked to me. The original pictures looked fine.

Maybe this video can help you make better pictures next time..

I'm not an expert.. Just trying to help..
Because I can't use those pics..

I actually do some professional editing, including photo editing and I'm very familiar with banding, grading, color tones, etc.
I also know some if the pics would look better if I had access to the dev's original png's instead of the webp images but overall you do see more detail that is being hide from the under exposure that these images have. I also did not want to spend a lot of time on each image to make them look their absolute best, especially since they are just webp versions and I have better things to do in my time.

It is a trade off, more detail but some have a bit of a gradient issue or too dark that hides some detail but masks the gradient issues.

Ok. fair nuff.. I have pretty high nits as you say on my Samsung C27RG5 So the original pics will do fine for me.
I need a new monitor but not until sometime next year and having a high nit is a requirement. Though the one I currently have gives me an idea of what the videos and images look like for those who haven't upgraded to something with a high nit yet.

Microsoft and Nvidia and also AMD it seems fucks up all color stuff anyway now adays..
ppl should try to keep their images as simple as possible, as how windows displays colors are changes from update to update it seems. They've been screwing up windows and drivers for over a year now. Enough so that I'm considering moving to Linux

I'll be releasing the chapter 4 beta to my highest level supporters today. Normally, that would mean a gradual paid release on itch.io until the free public release a week later. This time, though, I'll be without Internet service starting on the 27th, so I'm shrinking the usual release schedule to a few days and the free public release will be December 25th. Merry Christmas, everyone! Tomorrow and Friday, the new version will be available on itch.io for $3, if you can't wait, or you'd like to support my work.

Whichever version was linked here, it's still Beta until Saturday. If I make further changes I'll update the links here.

I say that because there've been 3 versions released today. First version had flag errors near the end of chapter 4. Second had 2 missing images. 3rd skips past the missing images, which will be fixed in 0.04b.

That'll be fixed in the public release. Actually... That shouldn't be an issue. Did Sam shower in your room at the end of chapter 3?

*Should I really be helping Big John, or should I get rid of him for good?*

And then you get only the option to work with him? wtf?
Sounds like you're too far gone, already. Maybe you should try playing through with less alpha points if you want more choices.
