Just played ep 5 and I see that dev took the inspiration from certain acting lessons *wink*
Shit like this just hits different. Especially if u play modded version and it says "Finnabair path" for certain decisions
Overall - great update, can't wait to play the next episode.

Hm, maybe but I don't think so, Finnabair never was a LI, she was a sidegirl, The LI s are in the in the Chapter ends review.
there is for shure a path where you can have sex with everything what don't climbs up a tree, but not with all example Kate and Kari are exclusive, and If you go with Anissa, you miss oportunitys with, to build relationship with Elea and Fiona, (I don't remeber if with Kaija aswell).
For me it seemed less cruel than in That AVN what you mention.

only more cruel in the sense I got more attached to Finnabair than the others in the game he mentioned hell I liked her more than alot of LI in other games. If she wasn't a side girl for 1 chapter would of put her above Kaija.

I know she wasn't a main LI, but I thought the game would have side routs that don't end up being just fuck fests (like BaDIK).
Well, glad I still have Medb left at least.

"A Father's Sins" have a dead than hit me harder, and is not even a potencial LI (maybe for some).

Dev just got you emotional with her sad story and maybe a chance of a good end and then....BANG!

Honestly Finnabair almost hit me as hard as a certain cliffhanger from a certain mafia game and yet that cliffhanger isn't that sad compared to another character's backstory

Oh yeah, forgot about that one you're right, between that one and Finnabair, is hard to say which was harder, and again they were necessary for the plot

Good Point, why we see MC Bodyguard, and not Jess's ? has she even one ? and why MC and not her ? or was it just because MC moved out of his parents home ?
i made a similar comment and someone made a long sort of reply going off on theology and stuff, but the one thing i understood that actually made sense to me was MC is special. First off templars are a sexist organization, the son is an heir of sorts to the father while the daughter not so much. So it makes sense the templar council would want the leaders son protected with a more permanent and hidden bodyguard. Then consider the parents, they also did not find a babysitter for the sister, but remember the MC is special. I think the parents kind of expect the MC to be special, they show surprise that he was resistant to the alfar jedi mind tricks, yet their follow up behavior was more like they expected something of the sort from the MC. I mean he has mad king arthur sword in the stone vibes.

It's the mark of a good writer to get the reader so emotional over the loss of a character. Ceolag has some skills. LOF, AL, AFS, and a few other games were good story telling as well. Its for VNs like these that I am here. Porn is porn and you can get it anywhere, good story telling, that is much harder to find.

I agree while I don't play for the porn but rather the character interaction / slice of life dating sim bit a bit more. When there is good story telling I don't even care about that part anymore.

I was always a fan of comics and graphic novels. VNs are not much different. I enjoy novels but being old, comics and graphic novels were always easier to cart around to read while travelling etc. A friend gifted me a VN on Steam and I liked it and bought a few more and got hooked on them. Deliverance was one of the first I read and Leap of Faith and so on. Been a fan ever since.

I can find 'decent' porn with a 30 second search.

I can spend weeks to months playing AVNs and not find a truly engaging story that draws me into another world.

Ceolag is, IMO, a very good writer/AVN creator.

I've seen both good writing that was poorly translated into an AVN and beautiful AVNs with very good renders/animations and the poor story telling kept pulling me out of immersion.

Finding both in one dev is the gem.

The downside to finding such a good story is trying to be patient for more Of that story...

Still - this is a better problem to have than the one of never having found that story in the first place. (y)

Cheers!! :coffee:

yeah finding a story you can get into is rare. Finding a game that you enjoy not so much at least for me as I tend to get into characters and enjoy them rather easily even if they are fuck fest haha. Which is why after playing AVN's for like 6 months straight when I first started , I had to take a step back and start to play normal video games again. I finally found a okay way to balance both for now I think, only took me like 9 months to find it lol. Tho I will say I notice im able to enjoy alot of games people just don't , unless they are harems those are harder for me to enjoy.

I totally agree with you, the whole trip to Alfheimr has really broadened the MC's horizons.

You could literally watch how enemies (Finnabair & Medb & MC) became friends with a very tragic ending. Now I'm wondering whether the Dev is pulling THE trump card that he himself built into the plot???

He (the Dev) has created a way to prevent Finnabair's death!!!

[edit] We don't know what the Dev had in mind or what the purpose of her death is, and we know even less how the story continues. We also don't know if the Dev intentionally had or had this possibility in mind. We'll see in the future.

Finnabair arc definitely changed the MCS perception especially when it comes to relationships and family. Will his feelings for his family change.

MC went over to stop the war. He failed while being totally in the dark about both Templars and Alfar movements: MC does not even have a Ygdrasil map thast would track the movements on various factions in and out of various realms for him.
There are no feelings lost between him and his family, as MC was never privvy to their movements before.
MC resisting the succubus is totally random, as is MC picking up a fight in the smugglers territory or getting himself inbetween MEdb and a sword of peace - MC should hone his peace skills if he is to outrun Romeo and Juliet curse he has cursing through his heart rigth now after saving Finnabar from her own self-destroying fate, only for some unforseen outworldly event to snatch her from MC.
MC did not intergrate with either the templars or the Alfar - both factions made damn sure to keep MC out of their affairs.
I mean - they had a guy conversing with Nimue and wielding the Peace Maker Sword - yet they never integrated him in their plans - possibly because they wanted war all along - nobody seems to need the Peace Maker MC and his Pacifying sword.

Finnabair arc definitely changed the MCS perception especially when it comes to relationships and family. Will his feelings for his family change.
MC is not looking for more fights, antagonists or killings. If he had, then MC would have killed Fin himself to put the Alfar in their place.
Did you?
