freddygonzo & sleepingkirby: Your time to shine. So, since the quirks are disabled but still present in the files, does anybody actually know which variables one would have to flip to reenable them or even what variables one would be looking for? I am vaguely interested in messing about and maybe reenabling the quirks just for shits and giggles, but I'm not exactly a coding expert and wouldn't really know where to even start looking.
You said it, pal.oh boy
I guess you can also say that those kinks make characters more "alive", so to speak. It gives them a personality beyond your control, just like IRL. Simply because you ask someone "blease stob xD--My problem with that line of thinking is that IMO, the kinks were a good way to flirt with the characters even if you weren't dating them.
Like, hearing that Laura has started to really like the way you smell, or Jean hesitantly bringing up your "sibling"ship every time she can in weirder ways, there's a part of you that's like "wait, is this a sex thing? are they flirting, is she into me?"
It added a little spice. My most recent playthorugh felt weirdly abrupt without that kind of dialogue to bridge the gap between just friends and actually dating.
But I guess they made their decision... maybe I'll just find a way to use console to turn the kinks on early, hopefully the platonic kinks are an actual thing they're working on
I agree with this, creating a convincing facsimile of life is so difficult that it is often done accidentally it seems.I guess you can also say that those kinks make characters more "alive", so to speak. You, good sir, get it.I guess.
It's a fun dynamic. I was thinking what made new playthrough a bit more sterile than before - it was rework of this mechanic I now think. Remember romancing Rogue in earlier versions and bringing her to my room and, at some point, seeing that Laura stands outside the window, leaning on it, with glowing ass eyes. IRL it can be annoying, but in the game it has a lighthearted, sort of comedic tone.
I mean, someone like Jean wouldn't stop bringning up her "brother" thing just because you've asked. You'll say "blease stob xD" and she'll say "okay XXDD" only to bring it up again, "when the time is right", in hopes that you can reconsider.
They're not disabled. They're currently locked behind dating the girl as all of the quirk dialogue was written in the context that you were dating them. So, since the quirks are disabled but still present in the files, does anybody actually know which variables one would have to flip to reenable them or even what variables one would be looking for? This is a good idea. I'll throw it at the devs.Is it feasible to make something similar where you give a girl a massage and it does the same thing where you can ask her to take a few pieces of clothing depending on their Love/Trust and adopt certain positions for you to massage them, then click on a few body parts and get a bonus to their stats?
Their thirst will remain. It is simply being rewritten to be thirst after a man they are not in an active relationship with.I guess you can also say that those kinks make characters more "alive", so to speak. It is simply too funny, it rocked super hard and the premise that in the future encouraging the quirks might develop in unforeseen consequences was a plot hook that had me exited and giddy to find out what would happen.
You will still be able to encourage quirks platonically and see the long term consequences of doing so. We're simply adding dialogue for instances where you are not their boyfriend. As it was, the quirks was the TNH equivalent of wild wasteland and i was all up for that.
From what I read, I was under the impression that the quirks being available on the girls' platonic routes was what is disabled. Reading through your responses made it sound like everything is all still there, and all you have to do is flip a few variables to reenable the quirks for platonic routes, that's what I was referring to there. I probably could have worded that message a little more clearly, but alas. They're not disabled. They're currently locked behind dating the girl as all of the quirk dialogue was written in the context that you were dating them.
Some of them are still possible if you click on the choices during end of season events. Seems to be for the ones with a less sexual undertone. They're not disabled. They're currently locked behind dating the girl as all of the quirk dialogue was written in the context that you were dating them.
>gaslightingThat's not why I was heated. I take getting accused of gaslighting VERY seriously as I am a degree holding psychologist and people misuse it like an armchair activist uses the word Nazi.
This is literally what's being done. I phrased it in three different ways and get called a liar.
Just how things develop. Rogue is the first and most "natural" girl for dating from a narrative perceptive. First you come across, girl assigned to help you, study partner, powers make things fit better (make you immune to her so she can touch), etc.Was this intentional or just how the game naturally developed?
