So, at the extreme risk of outing myself. Memes aside... where did the whole "hand holding extreme lewd/degenerate" thing come from?

Please know culturally I live under a rock and while yes, I could google it. I much prefer learning of it from actual fellow humans instead of a quick blerb on.. Urban Dictionary or something.

Goddess I remember when urban dictionary was where we went to learn what L33T SP34K was.. I don't even know if I did that right.

It doesn't really have a specific origin based off of a specific source or thing.

It's sort of a play on righteous indignation over degenerate acts by using the more innocent signs of affection like hand holding.
A sort of role reversal for comedy where lewd or other things unacceptable in public are given a pass.
People tend to censor the hand holding as part of the joke or as a way to poke fun at over-censorship of media.

A combination of mediums, Anime mostly, where internal thoughts show the dilemma of the couple in question wondering about if their relationship is at the point of holding hands...
there are also a couple of western examples too, usually initiated by the lady, to show others that they are a couple.

we hit the eighth milestone this week! here comes Slifer . I took a few days to travel with my partner but I'm back tonight and will give y'all a new set of milestones to aim for when I'm settled at my computer myself and the rest of the dev team are so incredibly grateful for your support with the fundraiser so far - it's already a big success in my book and has really warmed my heart. sustaining this level of funding would let us keep pushing hard with the artists and advance to revsharing as a dev team with what's left over!

Hopefully the number of scenes like these will keep on increasing as the budget increases , 4.3k raised as of now is semi decent but if the budget allocation reaches somewhere around 6- 8k a month we might finally start seeing some stability in the dev cycle and without Ron having to dip into his own savings to keep the project alive

He will have to deliver though cause with how the economy is going people will close their wallets real fast if they don't get what they are paying for
