Thank you for the complimentsthe first chapter show good promises and the characters are well developed and interesting too.
I felt really bad for Zelene when mc rejects her without any hesitation, he laughs , then with a big smile he say that he dont have any interest in her and then he look at her completely down
I realize that he can't confess to her that easily, but perhaps placing a choice here hinting that mc could have some interest romanticaly in her and that she notices it in addition of what already happen could be a good idea?
I mean, mc rejecting her like that seem a bit harsh, especialy since a bit later he show some interest in Blanche and even can possibly kissing her
Of course it's just a suggestion otherwise i really liked that first chapter, and wish you good luck with your game
.With regards to Zelene, you are correct - I don't want MC admitting it that easily. And your suggestion is extremely sound - and I should give players a choice to subtly hint there might be something there. I'll have to do some brainstorming to see how it'll impact future content and such, but ultimately, I don't see there being too many issues with adding in that extra choice (especially considering Chapter One is already light on choices).
I'm already re-working the night scenes to make them appear brighter. Obviously, when there are scenes at night you want to make them dark to make it feel as if it happens at night while still providing enough light for the player to be able to observe what is going on. It's a fine line to tread - and it appears as if I've overstepped that line (developing those scenes on a bright monitor didn't help either). I also found in the night scenes that the background is significantly lighter than the characters faces - so what I'm doing is making the background darker while adding more light to the characters faces to hopefully make them pop a bit more. This should mean the reader should be able to observe what's going on, while still getting the impression that the scene occurs during the night.
As for the inside scenes - I'll look more into those and see if I can improve them as well.
