Indeed they are.
My top three saves are from waaaaaaay back, when there was just Janice, Julia and Emma in the game.

The only time there's really an issue, is if you've cheated and broken that save.

that's because you are new. KsT goes to summer vacation around this time every year to skip a month or 2
