Well, there's slowburn, and there's stretching it to the point where the fire goes out, followed by adding different types of slow-burning fuel and re-ignite it, then repeating that process a few times over, and each time expecting heat for the entire campsite. This particular dev seems to fall into this latter category.

yea he does, on orig. tcnd it took many updates before getting some action with daughter.

Do you know if this game will continue to be updated or this is the last version and you have to continue with TPTCNDEX2?

The original game ended at ep22 when the dev finished/abandoned the game & remade/continued the story with TCND:EX (end of original tells you mc realised he made mistakes. These mistakes probably lead to his deathbed, from where ex starts with a death reaper giving him a 2nd chance)
The game hosted on this thread is Tcnd:Ex ver. 0.8.1 ep 7. This is out of date.
You can find the latest ver. 0.12.1 ep 11

The game ends in ep 11 is continued in Ex2 which is season 2 & picks off from where this game (ex) ended.

Thank you very much for clarifying the doubt, suddenly I downloaded TPTCND EX and I realized all the changes, but I thought it was the same as the previous one only that the dev had implemented another system, the previous one I did not find it again, you have helped me a lot.

So played the complete game 0.12.1
Tbh I didn't mind the sandbox that many ppl apparently left this game over. Cause it isn't really a sandbox game.
This is a kinetic novel with fake choices masquerading as a sandbox game. Let me elaborate:

That was my thoughts throughout the game, but things became messy at the 2nd last event of the game - the gamenight where 3 girls (daria, emily, marjory) visit to spend the night:

So to anyone wanting to play the game, here's the steps:
1. Download the full game (ver 0.12.1, ep11) from

2. Buy a drink from the store, then forget about the inventory. Keep playing by Waking up -> going to class -> going downtown (to adv time) -> going home to bed. Or play however you like.
3. Play untill the ep9 event - the gamenight where daria, emily & marjory come over to play games with tiffany. Don't play the event; close & delete the game (saves are not needed for Ex2)
4. Download Ex2 from f95 or

& continue playing the ep9 gamenight event.

Anyway I don't mind the story structure or the sandbox, though the dev still seems to be in the process of figuring themselves out & using the death reaper to start over too much. They should've fixed the last 2 events in Ex1 itself & added an end scene linking to Ex2.

IIRC, the points are used to check if you can have the dream or not. They were also supposed to be checked if you can progress past a certain point, but AFAIR, the dev didn't implement the check, only checks if you collected any points with the girl or not (var > 0).

Points are never checked (var>0)
Only thing that is checked for the dreams is if you chose the route choices & got the _route variables.
Ofc you may be talking about the old vn version while I'm looking at the code of the ex version which is the version available on the thread currently (albeit outdated).

I played 0.11.1 of the original TP:TCND (before EX) a good while back - so if I ever decided to pick it back up again should I just play the TCND VN version (0.25.1?) and then skip to EX2? How much would I miss in that case rather than playing EX in between?

Good grief, what a mess.

Someone who has played both vn version & ex should be able to tell.
But it should be fine if it isn't too different storywise.
Did you get the game night event? If so, I think you can continue directly to ex2. (Ex2 starts with the game night where daria emily & marjory come over to play a VR game)

Last version I played only got to I think ep 8 out of 22 in the VN and looks like I'll have to start from the beginning. Thanks for the info on where EX2 picks up. At this point I may wait to see where EX2 goes before bothering with any of it again.
