i honestly dont know, i had issues with my game, so i downloaded a save file, which i had to do a few times.. and the save files had a pickaxe and a grappling hook.
i used compressed version.. which may be why my game kept messing up.

You have it in first post. But files are hide.
And first you need save game by self, after that overwrite it by donwloaded saves with same position number.

no one has actually said the game as ended, even the "final" movie so far in the game is called a pre-ending

The game is finished, the story is over. The game will continue on NGO, all being added currently are bonus content.

Bruce maybe a myth but in this game i caught a 1,332.32 Lb Great on the first try. So if a 3,000 lb is out there I haven't seen him yet.

Because the gameplay is required to get the bonuses. The story is done, but there will still be things around the map to do.
Having finally just finished the game, they weren't. Brad is constantly acting like Zeus of Olympus everytime he sees a woman (I'm gonna put my dick in it!), and he's an asshole to Simon and Andy almost nonstop. Sure, when the bodies start piling up he actually puts people's safety first, but he is still an ass for little to no reason to most of the guys. Val meanwhile was a rather cutthroat business woman right from the start, and continues to be like that in her new venture.
