Dev Diary, Walkthrough, and some changes.
I hope you had fun playing the season finale. If you haven't yet, don't worry, I'm not going to put any spoilers here, but there are some important things to cover.
The release has been updated to v4.03p, crushing some minor bugs in the process, but if you played the release already, you're good. The most prominent bug-fix was fixing Sea's code ending in A-B, when it should have ended with B-A (I'll go hide in the corner now). Your saves are good either way.
Season 2 is patch only, so if you have some disk space available, keep your current version securely stored for when Episode 5 is out.
The download links have also been sent in a private message to all lower-tier long-term supporters. If you are a long-term supporter, but haven't received it, let me know.
It was a tough choice to end Season 1 like that, but it'll be worth it when we dive into Season 2, as I don't have to tiptoe around a lot of plot subjects anymore and can allow for you to connect more deeply with the girls.
It being made like that also serves another purpose, in that every episode doesn't have to grow exponentially bigger, and allows me to make episode 5 without having to break render record numbers, meaning the wait for the release will be shorter.
As an added bonus, the easter-egg is that you can now click "new game" and play Season 1 over again as a Groundhog Day experience, which kind of aligns with the story reveal.
It was a nice, relaxing release weekend since there were no game-breaking bugs like last time. I had planned to give Kingdom Come: Deliverance II a shot, but instead, I dove right into making the walkthrough DLC and have been making good progress on it. The store page is up, so if you want some preview screens, have a look at

The Patreon version of the DLC will also be available on October 10th.
Free-roams and VN mode
I've been constantly trying to improve free-roam navigation by removing clutter screens that only work as transport stages and introducing shortcut navigation.
Seeing as some hate free-roams, but still want to enjoy the game, I've decided to implement a VN-mode, where you can play the game as a normal menu-choice Visual Novel.
Note that this is not a ten-minute job, as it will require a whole lot of testing of both VN-mode and re-testing Roam mode. It also adds to what needs to be done for the DLC, so it will inevitably delay me starting work on Season 2, but hopefully you'll agree that this is time well spent.
It's also important to note that free-roaming is meant for exploring, while VN mode is not. VN mode propels you through the most crucial dialogue bits and meeting people that are important for relationship building, but will not cover every single thing that can be explored in roam mode. So if you want to unlock every achievement and photo session (main menu gallery), you'll need to play roam mode at least once.
But unlocking all replay scenes will, of course, be possible in VN mode.
And that concludes the dev update for this week. There probably won't be one next Friday, as there isn't much to report from me making the walkthrough and VN mode, and I suspect it's a two-week job, minimum, to get everything finished.
Have a lovely weekend, and if you plan to play Season 1 during it, have fun doing so.
Stay safe out there.
