u4ia being in the same universe as Artemis, Chasing Sunsets and Fog of War with their sci-fi elements is the sole reason I can stomach the whole android plot twist. It moves too far from the previous narrative and makes everything too fantastic. Also, it kills 'the MC working at the hotel' sublot which I liked a lot, as who in their right mind would work for Synne after that? Imo, it's too early in the story to break the status-quo, and Drifty should've just kept to the whole drug thing, it doesn't get in the way of anything.
Wow, that escalated quickly from my post asking about Nyah vs Artemis and took it to an entirely different topic. But I'll bite.

As it stands right now, it's actually BOTH drugs and AI. The drug subplot is still there, completely intact, mystery kinda unravelled, but issue entirely unresolved, as evidenced by the fact that Aiden West literally talked about the drug and how there is no antidote in his Bond villain-esque monologue. All Drifty did was to add an AI subplot on top as a cliffhanger.

Also, whether it's drugs or some AI android stuff is entirely irrelevant to whether one would continue to work for Synne or not, because she is not the villain here. The issue with Synne is that she's peripherally involved with the shady stuff, not what the shady stuff is. How it being AI would kill the "MC working at the hotel" subplot while it being drugs wouldn't have the same effect is beyond me. If nothing else, Synne being peripherally involved in a drug ring experimenting on the island's population is 1000x worse than her being peripherally involved with a secret android development that basically doesn't affect the day-to-day lives of the island dwellers.

Its kinda written on the wall that he killed the mom too and im kinda baffled how the mc doesnt even have this suspicion himself yet considering how his dad had treated him and the last talk with his mom.
Is it? I haven't gotten too far into the latest episode yet but I thought it was pretty obvious that the MC's mother faked her own death. That's how she knew it would be the last time the MC would see her when she left. The MC even mentions that her car was wrecked so thoroughly it was almost like it was intentional.

As far as the Synne situation is concerned, it's true that it's less about androids exactly and more about the dad's reveal and the plot twist itself. That the dad orchestred MC's (and every LI's!) arrival on the island and has a degree of control over Synne and the hotel completely destroys the status quo I mentioned. The MC can't trust Synne to protect him from the dad, he's got no time to work and date girls anymore, he's in an immediate danger, and it's basically already time to prepare for the final battle.
And while the hotel problem really isn't directly tied to the android thing, I still suspect that if it was just the drug, the plot would move slower. Much of the reveal is about androids anyway, with the whole MK24 and MK29 stuff.

Dev Diary, Walkthrough, and some changes.

I hope you had fun playing the season finale. If you haven't yet, don't worry, I'm not going to put any spoilers here, but there are some important things to cover.
The release has been updated to v4.03p, crushing some minor bugs in the process, but if you played the release already, you're good. The most prominent bug-fix was fixing Sea's code ending in A-B, when it should have ended with B-A (I'll go hide in the corner now). Your saves are good either way.
Season 2 is patch only, so if you have some disk space available, keep your current version securely stored for when Episode 5 is out.
The download links have also been sent in a private message to all lower-tier long-term supporters. If you are a long-term supporter, but haven't received it, let me know.
It was a tough choice to end Season 1 like that, but it'll be worth it when we dive into Season 2, as I don't have to tiptoe around a lot of plot subjects anymore and can allow for you to connect more deeply with the girls.
It being made like that also serves another purpose, in that every episode doesn't have to grow exponentially bigger, and allows me to make episode 5 without having to break render record numbers, meaning the wait for the release will be shorter.
As an added bonus, the easter-egg is that you can now click "new game" and play Season 1 over again as a Groundhog Day experience, which kind of aligns with the story reveal.
It was a nice, relaxing release weekend since there were no game-breaking bugs like last time. I had planned to give Kingdom Come: Deliverance II a shot, but instead, I dove right into making the walkthrough DLC and have been making good progress on it. The store page is up, so if you want some preview screens, have a look at

The Patreon version of the DLC will also be available on October 10th.

Free-roams and VN mode
I've been constantly trying to improve free-roam navigation by removing clutter screens that only work as transport stages and introducing shortcut navigation.

Seeing as some hate free-roams, but still want to enjoy the game, I've decided to implement a VN-mode, where you can play the game as a normal menu-choice Visual Novel.

1757679481064.png

Note that this is not a ten-minute job, as it will require a whole lot of testing of both VN-mode and re-testing Roam mode. It also adds to what needs to be done for the DLC, so it will inevitably delay me starting work on Season 2, but hopefully you'll agree that this is time well spent.

It's also important to note that free-roaming is meant for exploring, while VN mode is not. VN mode propels you through the most crucial dialogue bits and meeting people that are important for relationship building, but will not cover every single thing that can be explored in roam mode. So if you want to unlock every achievement and photo session (main menu gallery), you'll need to play roam mode at least once.

But unlocking all replay scenes will, of course, be possible in VN mode.

And that concludes the dev update for this week. There probably won't be one next Friday, as there isn't much to report from me making the walkthrough and VN mode, and I suspect it's a two-week job, minimum, to get everything finished.

Have a lovely weekend, and if you plan to play Season 1 during it, have fun doing so.

Stay safe out there.

not a problem, daddy asshole will just buy new or dozen new since those yachts are 1 in million.
It makes you wonder how he didn't ruin the company with all this spending to erase memories, produce androids, blackmail his partners, replace yachts and God only knows what else.

Those were some curveballs at end of the season. I wonder what Paige having some mysterious gene means. Is she a designerbaby or is MC one? I hope Penny isn't actually dead, but just has a role to play in some fucked up ruse.

I don't think Penny is gone, Nyah clearly whispers something and Geneva suddenly stops raging at Aiden over her death? Yeah...

Anyone have a save from the end of Ep3.11p that is working, or around that time? My save is from before the RenPy version change and won't work. It's a save without mods or edits, and I'd rather no play through the game for a 4th time.

who says they in same universe?
Discounting the obvious cop-out that there are parallel universes, or multiverse, so it's not the universe for a moment...

Artemis is in the Chasing Sunset universe, agree?

Jaye from Chasing Sunset is in the same universe as Lexi from Leap of Faith. Therefore they are in the same universe.

And almost the entire cast of LoF had a cameo in the last release. And Sea herself is in both LoF and U4iA. Therefore they are also in the same universe.

So, U4iA universe is the same as LoF universe is the same as CS universe is the same as Artemis universe.

...or it's just an advertisement for other games and has no bearing on the plot at all.

Of all the seemingly illogical things in this game, that's the hill you are making a stand on? :ROFLMAO:

Way to ruin to the argument with real life logic. :ROFLMAO:

But we aren't really talking about realities here. We are talking about the story universe.
Except doesn't Bianca in u4ia state that Jaye and Mallory are actresses, which makes Chasing Sunsets fictional in u4ia's universe?

It's like saying the Marvel universe and the Xenomorph-verse are the same because Aliens is referenced in Infinity War.
