Just curious is there any way you could add an option to play like a vn instead of forcing sandbox? I just don't like sandbox personally but I do like the base story and the characters. I'm not counting on it as I know little of programming so I'm not sure how big of an ask it is but for me it would be more enjoyable without the sandbox...
