Yes! It is the people accusing people of milking others for money that are the true victims in all this.
Did I ever accuse you of doing that? Nope, I never did. You didn't do anything to progress the game. You can come up with viable excuses/reasons, as I mentioned before... *I mean that btw!* But it's there and there's no way to deny it.

*sigh* Again... Gl in your future endeavours. I'll keep an eye on this thread hoping you'll get your shit together again.

What other people do with their money is not up to me. I would never call anyone "stupid" for paying for a few renders a month. The excuses (how viable and/or justifiable they may seem/be) can't hide the fact the updates didn't come. That's all there is to it for me. Devs should do whatever they please. I would never ask a dev to add/change things to my liking etc. I simply observe what they do by judging what I get. If I like it? I do support it. If not ... or there's no progress? I won't support or drop my support. Read I didn't tell anyone to do the same? Good.

To get back to your question. If someone calls out the fact he/she didn't get what they had hoped for? It's a bit sickening how fast folks attack a person who brings it up and muddy the waters. Like in this case there's simply a fact that can't be undone. Someone calls it out and he/she suddenly is the bad person for doing so. Simply because some fanboy "I wannabe game dev" can't grasp the difference between an honest factual observation and his own emotional ties to a game/dev/whatever.
You didn't make factual observations, you applied your opinion to every single one of CB's patrons using your opinion as an assumption that everyone feels the exact same way you do about being a patron of a dev. You're just one person and your post made it seem like you were speaking for every single one of CB's patrons, which obviously you're not. As CB pointed out, and Walt Vic confirmed, some patrons sub to devs because they like the dev and want to see them succeed irregardless of how long updates take.

Talking about muddying the waters! Read me saying anything about what other patrons should do imo? Nope. You're making things up now. This is how a discussion about a simple fact (game wasn't updated for 7 months) turns into something totally different. And that's by design, I know. Gl with that. Not going to endulge you.

I'm done after this post because this is ultimately pointless, but you certainly need to brush up on your reading comprehension skillset. Not once did I suggest you said anything about what other patrons "should do," but you most certainly assumed your opinion is more widely shared by more patrons than it actually is. Trust me, if I was going to go full tilt 3d chess on you, you would have no idea what hit you. Let's go back to your original post:

But in the end you have paying patrons who paid for what exactly? Updates to the game progression.
That might be how you use Patreon, not how everyone uses Patreon.

They got a few renders and no game update. That's the business aspect of getting paid to create something. You didn't deliver what was advertised. That's all there is to it. And as long as you can keep you patrons happy with renders? Go for broke!?
This whole text block is a mess. If his patrons are fine with just renders, as you suggest in the last couple sentences, then they are getting exactly what they're paying for, so what's the issue? Also, CB has no set schedule for update releases, as he got burned pretty bad last time he tried, most patrons of his know this, and are fine with it.

So I ask again, if all you wanted to do in this thread is point out "facts," why'd you even comment in the first place? Patrons have already made their choice to spend money on any dev on this site, and some random piracy forum user isn't going to change their mind. If you're disappointed in the time between updates, say that, but certainly don't pretend everyone shares that opinion or uses Patreon the same way you do.

God this whole thread needs nuked for being off topic. lol And reading some of these comments from this developer is is the MAIN reason I refuse to support him and any other creator
There are more than 10,000 games listed here on F95. If you are refusing to support any of those games, the main reason is not because you don't like the developer of 1 of those 10,000.

...so if I don't get the updates out quickly, I do apologize. But I've gone through some shit. The game is not dead. It will never die, as long as I live. Updates are coming. This update will probably be much less than an hour of gameplay. But I think it'll be good. I think you guys are going to really like the ending. And I plan on putting you through some "wtf?" moments as well. But it's going to take time and I ask for patience while I get back into rendering shape.
Thats tough, glad to hear you are doing better, fingers crossed you get a full recovery soon.

A) You keep reading things that simply aren't there.
B) You deliberately use partial(!) quotes to take my words out of context.

Kinda sad you're doing this. Makes me wonder why.

CB didn't update the game in 7+ months. Why wasn't this game put "on hold"? Again, I do feel sorry for him. But this game thread should have been put "on hold", if a mod knew the dev wasn't going to be able to update the game. Why wasn't it "on hold", so everyone on this board knew there wasn't going to be an update any time soon?

Games are put on hold after 3+ months of no dev communication or over a year of no update. CB pops up on discord talking shit usually once a day, and it obviously hasn't been over a year so Unleashed fails both "on hold" tag checks.

Regarding "partial quotes," that's just how I operate. I like to point out exactly where and why people are wrong and I try to correct them, obviously you don't care to listen or learn, and that's fine.

It's a worry that neither of you seem to know the rules for the on hold prefix?
Onhold: The game has been confirmed to be on hold by the developer.
Abandoned: The game has been abandoned (confirmed by the dev) or the developer hasn't posted anything related to the game for at least 3 months.
So there's no on hold, because CB didn't ask for it. The reasons for the delays were random, so why would he?

Preg for some reason is describing the conditions for the abandoned prefix...

I continue to be mistified why people complain about such delays. It updates when it updates, it's not like there aren't 10000 other games to look at in the meantime. Bitching about it won't make it update any faster.

Unless you're actually paying for it, in which case bitching about it here is a waste of time. Do it on the subscription platform and pull your subscription if you don't think it's worth it.

How is it that it's the year of our lord 2022 and you're still asking the same stupid questions? This game doesn't need to go on hold. If a patron doesn't want to support me, the patron can simply not support me. It's really simple. And my patrons are intelligent enough to think for themselves.

Why are you so worried what they do? Maybe you should concern yourself less with the actions of others and instead concern yourself more with why you need your hand held by the mods so that you don't have to be traumatized by a late update to a porn game.

Here's the text that accompanied CarbonBlue's CyberPunk render of Angel posted here earlier:

Friday Update - December 31, 2021

Happy New Year's to my patrons and to the public alike!

I hope this render doesn't break Patreon's NSFW rules - if it does I'll have to make it Patron-only. I was making a birthday render for , who loves Angel, and I've been wanting to do like a mini-cyberpunk story for Angel for some time, so here you go.

You all know that 2021 was a big bag of crap for me. My New Year's Resolution is to not dwell on the past. Instead, it's all about the future! And the future is going to be MUCH better for me and for Unleashed.

I am hard at work on the new update. My production is getting close to where it was in the early days, so I'm happy with that.

My plan for 2022 is to get updates out at least every 3 months. However, we all know that I suck at hitting my goals for updates, so I'm not going to promise anything - except that I will work hard for you all to ensure that you get some really entertaining, really beefy updates to the story after 0.5v3.

I should have a pretty decent estimate for when it will be released after this week. I'm going into 2022 with my machine rendering, and hope that remains the story for my 2022.

I hope all of you have the best time of your lives in the coming year, and I thank you all for staying with me through all my troubles. I'll see you on the other side!

On the contrary. All it does is show you couldn't if you kept it in full context. ;)
