Anyway is funny to see how many "sane persons" are willing to criticize CarbonBlue, because he is doing exactly what he stated he would have done, misleading us, lie to us and maybe trolling us in this forum is also part of the game; who kows?

A minority of patrons, yes. The issue is how many of the people become patrons. After several months of development (and timely updates) in the early part of this game, I had mostly F95zone people as patrons. Within a couple days of the game being put up on some website I had never heard of (I didn't post it), my Patreon doubled. Again, that's not to diminish F95; it's just in my experience and through the analytics I have installed on my Patreon, it appears to me that other sites have a bigger impact on actual conversion to paying Patron.

I think you miss a crucial point here. The hard thing is not only get the patreons, the even bigger task is to hold them.
Do you honestly think that with this perfomance as a developer your patreon count starts to rise, or will not nimble away?

There where studys that a company needs one satisfied customer to get two new customers - unfortunately, the reverse conclusion cannot be applied here, but an unsatisfied customer scares off eleven potential customers.
And this was a while back. Taken internet culture into consideration it may be way more now.
If we/you take a little bit effort into backtracking your posts alone here...

It makes no diffrence on which (in)famous site - the one whose name we/you are not allowed to know/say. Voldmort.com? - you put the game or if you get your income from there. Even the users of this place are not stupid and for sure no fools, who have nothing to give away. Especially when the economy in the world goes down.

You don't have proofen as an reliable dev, thats nothing you can talk away or kid on yourself about it.

All your actions you have pulled off will be a huge burden for you in the future. I will even say that you - as a dev - are done. Even when you release the next updates super reliable on point over the next years - you reputation is gone to hell, even after a little delay the voices will rise again.

Take a look at Oceans games Summer's Gone and Where it all Begun. Yes, there is a rework going on. Yes, there where delays. But! When the updates came out, Ocean has deliverd, hard - really chunky updates with top notch rendes and good writing.

I'm not even mad about you, why should I? I'm no patreon after all, I'm just disapointed, disapointed about the game and a dev that had great potential and decides to drive all his work with full acceleration in the next dead end against the wall.

This is the hobbyist pornographic visual novel business. Decent updates in a decent timeframe and patrons go up. Take too long on the updates and patrons go down. It ain't rocket science. And holy shit some of you guys are way too obsessed with Patreon. And you're making the mistake of believing that F95 is a monolith and everyone thinks the same. The vast number of people want a good VN with hot chicks they can fap to. All this posting on the forum is just bullshit extra that doesn't matter.

On the Patreon numbers, you know we can actually see them, right? Net gain? Yeah, right. Don't you feel even slightly guilty about providing a handful of renders over 12 months in return for over $6000 (but no VN)?

I used to support you but your attitude stinks. What once was a good idea and a well respected VN has dissolved into a joke. You just bare faced lied again and again about progress and don't give a shit.

It's one of my first times commenting not only in F95, but on Unleashed specifically. I've just been lurking and reading the same interactions over and over again. It isn't "bitching", it's asking you to prove that you did as you said. Simple as that.

For all I care, you can take 3 years to develop one frame - only if you say so. The core problem people have is the lying. The empty promises for updates that never come.

The additional insults just make people angrier. You're complaining about people simply calling your bluff.

Repeating yourself, getting all outraged over me sharing memes and making up this story that "holy shit he made a meme!" is kinda psychotic behavior.

I see it 2 ways:
1. Shut the fuck up while I work and do my thing. Doing so won't affect development in the least.
2. Continue to go psycho. Doing so won't affect development in the least.

But people like you get so angry with the former that you develop a hatred that justifies belief in the latter. Maybe chill a little? Not quite true. At least for my experience - obviously it got its start on F95 as this is where I got my start figuring out how to make a VN. But it didn't take long for other sources to take over on Patreon. I know other devs have the same experience, where F95 quickly becomes a minority of patrons. That's not to say F95 isn't significant, but that people might be surprised by the significance of other sites and sources.

That said, I plan to get things back on track here - I don't mean with just this update. The honest truth here is this update is going to disappoint anyone here who has been complaining. It'll have taken more than a year to come out and there is not a year's worth of work into it, because I've simply not had the time.

My hope is that people can take a look at the update and simply judge whether their time with it is fun or not. Did it make them laugh. Did it confuse them in an entertaining way. Did it make them really, really want to jump in the girls' pants. If it did that, I'm happy.

Then if I put the next update out in a timely manner and make that update similarly fun, at that point I hope people might consider supporting me again (or anew).

So, until that point, I guess you guys can keep bitching if you want. You should probably know that it won't affect me, but I guess it could be cathartic? I dunno. Honestly I think the level of hatred from some of you is pretty damn funny. But then as you should know, I have a dark sense of humor.

Nope. That's not how it works. I am the one who gets to decide if I'm a failure or not. You're just some rando hater screaming into the void because you're so angry that you can't play my game in a timely fashion. Normally I wouldn't respond to such entitled hatred, but I'll be happy to set the record straight on this for anyone who's reading (since I know you're a lost cause).

If I were to abandon Unleashed at this very minute, if I were to die today, if my Patreon were to drop to $0, this has not been a failure.

My VN, even in its early state, has entertained tens of thousands of people. I've made people laugh. I've made them fall in love with a psychotic redhead who wants to cut off their dicks. I've made some of them go through every render to see if there are secrets they've missed (and there are). I've made some of the most real characters with some of the best dialogue that you will find in any Visual Novel. That's not to brag; that's not to say I'm the best or anything - just that I'm happy with things so far. I wish I were producing things faster, but overall I'm a pretty happy go lucky dude and I'm satisfied.

On top of that, here's a direct quote from a developer who answered the question of what game inspired him to become a creator:

You aren't getting this, are you? I don't think anyone has hurt feelings! It's the fact you are a liar and are taking money from people who expect you to live up to your word. If you had said "it will be over a year till the next update" or "I'll update when I feel like it", people can make the choice whether to support you or not.

Saying "the update will be out in a few weeks", knowing that is a complete lie, is despicable. I joined your Patreon based on your (what I know now as) lies.

No doubt you can sleep very soundly at night knowing you are ripping people off but that says more about you than a VN ever will do. There are many genuinely talented devs who post on here that don't feel the need to take money under false pretences on Patreon/Subscribestar etc.

Oh well. Karma will catch up with you eventually.

I'm sorry but your game is a failour not because you don't want to compromise but because you don't move story forward, updates are to small, oftenly takes around year to develop with zero content. If real life impacted you, unabled you to focus some of your time to your game then why did you collect al the money from patreon? RedDust, developer of Three Rules of Life, paused every month (even till this day) until he delivers next update by his own words. But action speaks louder and many of his patreons confirmed that RD didn't collect. You on the other hand continued to collect for about a year money from your supporters knowing that you won't deliver and under false advertisement. And even when you delievered an update it whas to small like 5 maybe 10 mins. I feel that i should thank you because thanks to your actions this game will die quickly.
