Okay, this makes sense to me. I don't see the weirdness in it. Its not about Leia and William being Pedersoli and Grimaldi. Its about them being Zanes. They're to be used for political marriages to strengthen ties between other families and the Zanes. They may not be blood related to the true Zanes, but they're accepted enough to be given the Zane name, so they ARE Zanes. Sub-Zanes. Lesser Zanes? But still Zanes. Makes total sense to use them for political marriages.

Thats not even a mafia thing. Thats just real life.

Katie has information about the arranged marriage.

Leia doesn't have any different information if you're more intimate with her.

Helen is open to new information if you discuss Leia with her after the power goes out.

Yep, at first I was also surprised, what do their old families have to do with it, now they are Zanes (although Don Silvano, Leia's uncle, is alive and they are in contact). I even prepared a picture!

For me it's not the elimination of a fetish or that the "mafia" is stupid, it's how Ocean implemented these changes


As I said, I think, in my first post after the chapter came out: The arranged marriage by alliance doesn't seem as stupid to me as many say, but the way Ocean executed it is a problem.

- As for the Pedersoli and Grimaldi families, they have been wiped out, so the feud is over. Therefore, a shotgun wedding would be too late and too little to appease the vengeance of the branches of the two families that are outside the country.

- While I see two problems with the Zanes.
The first is that it seems excessive to keep two boys aside in case you need to marry them to quell a feud for X years.
And second, probably due to Ocean wanting to remove incest from his game, Leia and William are not considered Zane in virtually any respect; consequently their marriage would have almost no value for an alliance.

Those are only the plot aspects that dosen't fully fit together yet. There are characters behavious that also dosen't make compl

Excepet that they aren't Zanes, they can't be. Lesser Zanes, sub- Zanes or whatever. What is the point of this reboot if they are ? They aren't adopet, they were take in. My guess that William- Italian name- Zane is for this update as a transition process. I don't know. But if William continues to go as Zane nothing of this make sense to me. Sure he waa raised but the story goes out of its way to make sure they aren't related and aren't a real family, só I don't see the point of keep William as a Zane. Maybe if the story goes full mafia once he becomes a made man or "inherit" the family but now for him be a Zane he must have been adopet and we know that Ocean won't do that.

For what? He's a nobody....something Leia takes great pains to remind him. No family, nothing. As I stated in my deliberately long and silly post, asset for what exactly...and they gonna force him upon? No one wants him.

And this is the biggest hole in the story - no one sane will stick with the family where no one respect (or like) him, just move on with your life... and if he is still sentimentally connected with anyone after all that shit-talk than he truly do not deserve to be respected by anyone. William have real retarded behavior in story so far.

After all the comments here, I've now played through the game a second time. I thought that if so many people were crying, I must have missed something important. Maybe I didn't understand something either. Checking yourself and your own opinion is an important basic characteristic of adult civilized people. Well, I'm sticking to it. The game is better in its current state. The incest stuff isn't needed for the story. The mafia stuff didn't come as a surprise. That there is some form of organized crime has been in the game for ages. No one ever implied Ocean was good at storytelling. So I don't expect him to adopt the Hollywood clichés about the mafia either. These clichés are just as out of touch with reality anyway.

By the way, some said the whole thing about taking in children of wiped out mafia families was unrealistic. Also that these children are then misused for marriage politics. Well, there have indeed been such cases. Both the Ndrangheta and Cosa Nostra have a number of known cases. One such case is, for example, the marriage of Giulia Immacolata to Vincenzo Macrì. Such cases also occurred in the historic blood feud between Greco clans in the 1940s. Allegedly also in the San Luca feud in the 1990s and 2000s. But in the case of the latter, it is more likely to be the conjecture of investigative journalists, as I am not aware of any evidence.

So all in all, one can make the game worse than it is just because one is anal about the fact that ones favorite fetish is no longer included. But I don't have to take that seriously and accept it as a basis for discussion.
