When I first set my sights and goals on doing this, my first goal was to be sure that I could build a game that was much different than the many other games out there in storytelling.

While I’ve been fortunate to work as a writer in the comic book industry, as well as, an author of novels, my storytelling is much, much different than even some Triple-A games (outside of Mass Effect, Assassin’s Creed and such)… so my first concern was would people want to play a game that, for lack of better description, be sort of like an epic soap drama.

So rather than using one of my better stories that I’d eventually like to do games of, I needed to create one that was both expansive and could easy be chucked to the wayside if it looked like I was just wasting my time and fooling myself into thinking that people would be interested in my writing, stories or game.

Fortunately, I seemed to be lucky that there are many of you (and others) that are just as interested in the storyline as you are and are becoming as absorbed in the story and characters as I am.

The next concern was, would potential players find themselves accepting of my limited experience and knowledge in programming and game design… while I do work in the video game industry (for an Asian Game Studio), it is primarily just doing Motion Capture and key-frame animation cleanup work (making sure arms, hands and such don’t disappear into bodies and no extreme, ugly facial expressions like those seen in Mass Effect 4, god, that title was done POORLY)… so, my only experience in mission building has been from playing other games and was limited because of my poor, self-taught, programming experience.

Fortunately, with Palanto by our side now, that isn’t as great a concern and we are slowly steering this ship to being more game-like than just a picture book game with lots of text… just need to get to a part in the story that will allow for more of it.

The last concern was… simply put, a desire to be WAY DIFFERENT than any other independent game creator out there… produce a GREAT product, produce it on TIME, be ENGAGING with the Community and fans, be SUPPORTIVE of other creators and EMBRACE, UNDERSTAND and SUPPORT the “game sharing” COMMUNITY, as they are the most vocal when it comes to games available and learn from them on how to make mine better as time moved forward… and hope that in that would earn me more fiscal support to what I (now we) are attempting to do.

Through all of it, for lack of a better term, this game has become a monster in both size and workload; and if not for Palanto coming onboard and helping me as he has, I probably would not have succeeded in those goals by now… particularly with the news I received about my health during the Christmas holiday season and my increased workload, I would’ve stumbled and faltered.

Despite the issue with my health, I have already discussed with my real-life employer (the Asian Game Studio) about reducing my workload there and have decided to not attend the E3 this year so as to free up more time to focus on Wicked Choices and my health… and hoping that we continue to garner and increase the support that we’ve been building over on Patreon to do as well as some of the Top 50-100 creators there are doing.

I believe our title is worth it, I believe our work ethics are deserving of it and we have a strong desire to use that support, and my connections in the video game market, to build an actual professional, independent game studio that would slowly change the scope of erotic indie games from what they currently are into a reliable and sustainable market much like the market I created for 3D when I created my websites Renderosity and Renderotica back in the late '90's.

So, none of you need to worry, I will not be abandoning Wicked Choices, nor will I be abandoning any of you or this Community or the fledgling Community of Indie Erotic Games… I see incredible value in these things, have a desire and an obtainable goal… and the support that we’ve received from everyone has shown us that there is a STRONG desire for change in the Erotic Game market that I know we can bring with everyone’s support.

I will not LIE… it will take time, money, resources and support to make these goals happen… Renderosity and Renderotica… hell, the 3D Market, took a crapload of all those things to build it into the viable business and market that it now is and helped to open the door to the many games you are playing now possible… so I know, it CAN BE done.

So yeah, I am not going anywhere, anytime soon… we have a lot of work to do, but I know with all of your help and others, we CAN and WILL do it.

Yes it would be great if patronage would rise enough that ASLPRO could find someone that could do the renders for him that he trusts. Though will be hard for this game since he already put his own stamp on the story with his renders and style.

Yes, that is one of the things that @Palanto Games and I have been discussing quite a bit about and we think that if we do bring on another artist (which we seriously hope and want to do) that they will be taking over the Second Book of Wicked Choices... the sooner we can hire them (when financial support allows it), we will have them begin the task of building and converting the characters and assets to an updated generation of 3D figures to get those things ready for the Second Book.

This way, the artwork and style in Wicked Choices: Book One will remain consistent to its conclusion and the new artist will be able to forge and use their own style in Wicked Choices: Book Two...

...at least, that is the plan!

As @DA22 has stated @Catwashere there is NO NEED for any additional patches for our game.

I know that our game was checked by Patreon back towards the end of November (not long after the scene of Michelle) and have been fortunate to not have been found in violation of Patreon's Terms of Service... I am only assuming here, but I think a lot of that may be because of the writing of the game and the fact that, though we've skirted the lines some, we haven't done so in a way that (like the rape scene) it isn't done gratuitously or made light of the situations that the characters (and you, as the MC) experience... the person who reviewed the game for Patreon sent a message expressing that we remain careful, but they found the story "interesting" and "different".

So for now, we are OK and plan to do our best to remain so.

Ouch that is some serious amount of coding Palanto and really a miracle the game is as bugfree as it is, except for when Renpy is being mean to release new version. :biggrin: Keep up the great work.

It's not that much actual "coding" though, for now it's pretty restricted to ren'py inbuild stuff because we haven't gotten to a point where we can do more than tell the introduction So in a way it's pretty simple so far. Most of you probably know the unren.bat floating around the board, so just extract the .rpa and .rpyc files and check it out yourself. It's not much I actually "programmed"

Wrong the tag does say rape but i played other games with that tag an you can avoid it by making different choices or even turning it off or skipping it. This is the first game i played that had none of them options and i thought the rape was like the tentacle stuff had no idea it had more. Second i was not telling anyone what the hell they can like or not for people who do like it they need to seek help it is not right and rape is wrong and nasty but do whatever you like as long as you don't do it in real life i don't give a crap. That is why they should have a new tag of unavoidable rape or something like that because again some games you can avoid the rape. I got through that one hope the game has no more rape i do want to like this game it has great art and a promising story also the revenge needs to be awesome like a day of torture maybe the MC and niece tie the brother and mother up and torture them for a whole day so many ways to make them suffer in agony.

Nothing wrong with you making a game you want i have no issue with that at all i love freedom and at the moment i was heated the game has a great story so far and great art along with the writing i just got a little heated from it and yes it is just a game and not real life. I'll keep playing it because it is good besides my personal hate for rape and NTR and i would never ask any creator to change anything because i myself would hate to have someone tell me how to create something. My personal opinion should not take away anything from others go ahead and enjoy this game it is really good so far. that alone could keep me interested,but only if the writing was good.

feels more like i want to play a complete game all at once in 1 sit through instead of fractions ever few weeks and just frustrating myself.
as i see it, and this is my personal opinion, they have gone through the story and the characters a lot before even making their first render.

The thing is, with my game, I am going to focus a lot on telling a story, letting people get to know the characters, the situations they are in and... unlike most novels out there, the players will have SOME say in how things are handled... this isn't going to be your normal kind of game that you see a lot of out there, I want people to care about the characters, I want people to think about the morals of their choices and suffer the consequences of those decisions (good or bad) and experience a rich collection of situations, characters and emotions (though strange as some are or may be).

The bottom line, for me, the game is about creating characters that aren't just thrown at you as "this is your wife", "this is your daughter", now corrupt them and fuck them, so that you can jerk off... no, I want my game, the characters you meet, the things that you experience, to stick with you long after you've set the game down... that when you've had a long day and your laying in bed trying to fall asleep, that you begin to think about the characters and the story...

...that IF I can have you thinking about the story and characters, long after you've set the game down, then I am doing my job as a storyteller and creating an experience that will last forever.

And you are doing a good job at it i would love to get revenge with the niece have both of them kill the brother an mother also i hope Rhianna survives i'm at chapter 4 but {please no spoilers people}. Also i just made a suggesting i'll be happy just watching Claire do it. You seem to have a strong imagination so i think whatever you put into that revenge stuff is gonna be good. Me and my uncle have talked about torture before and how we would torture terrorist we came up with some sick shit. When i got to this scene in the game (remember that you have a choice of viewing it from 3 different perspectives, tested all of them). I applaud the dev for having the courage to add this entire scene. Its a key moment in the game and important for the story from my pov at least. Its it not meant to be enjoyable, it should make you feel uncomfortable.

No matter which viewpoint i choose, i was filled with anger and decided that i will do whatever it takes to help Claire...It is a very strong and emotional scene that plays out on the screen! I think my feelings for Claire are now engraved in stone. She is a survivor and a strong person. My love and protection she will have. I am pretty sure that i will make sure that Clair's mother and brother will trade living quarters with Lillith, if you know what i mean. Im even going to let my dog join them in their new home, haha! :evilsmile:
