You didn't read what I wrote. If what you wrote is true, you only get access to the game when and if it releases. Not the updates as as they come as I wrote in my post; and that is the issue here people have.
I understood. People want a one time purchase for access to further updates till release, that wasn't my point. First of all, we're all getting the game free here, not a single one of us are paying a dime, so having access to it on Steam won't make a difference. I'm not against owning it on Steam, but complaints wouldn't change even if people did have it on Steam hence me saying it's better to not support it financially now and just forget about it for a while till it actually fully launches, or at least until a considerable amount of progress is made campaign-wise.
If you buy early access games on Steam you see this sort of thing all the time. People buy these games early, progress doesn't go as quick as they want it to, regret on having spent money sets in, then you start seeing the scam posts or the, "it has been (x) amount of time where game" posts. Happened with Sons of the Forest, Divinity Original Sin 2, Baldur's Gate 3, Outlast Trials, etc etc. People just need to hold off and forget the game for a while. Nothing will change by owning the game on Steam when you already get all the updates here completely free. If people are complaining when they're pirating the game, it'll only be worse once they've actually spent money on it.
