Anyone else getting werid lighting in the new build? Shadows and light do not seem to load for me and I have no idea why.

All my textures seem really washed out, does anyone know what the issue might be? I've tried deleting the old folder of custom maps/skins etc that was made in the UE4 version and starting from a clean slate. But that seemingly wasnt the issue.
Same here

I don't see reused assets, the vague similarities in terms of shaders and lighting can be attributed to the the fact that they use the same engine (that's why Source games look similar, for example)... can you point to specific assets you think they share?
I never said the game was a 1:1 copy of Fortnite. Firstly, because that would warrant a lawsuit from Epic Games and secondly, its Unreal Engine, they have thousands of assets available in their own store alone. But even you didn't deny both screenshots have at least some similarities.

And, by the way, since when use premade assets in a game is a crime ? The vast majority of development teams that don't have a really specific art direction for their game use them. Why should a guy wasting 4 hours to make a street lamp form scratch when u can buy one for few bucks ?

I mean, of course ur game shouldnt be a patchwork of differents paid or free assets form the UE Store but the simple idea of using premade assets is just... normal.
I never said it was a crime. UE is a free public engine after all. The point I've been trying to make here (and to ymrorrr) is that their game is not 100% originally built from scratch unlike previous examples I've mentioned, so its begs to question why are they taking so long to complete the game.

progress updates with barely any significant changes or worse, downgrades from previous builds. 6 years is too long of a development cycle even for a mainstream AAA game. If games like Stardew Valley and Minecraft can be made from scratch by just one person in 3-4 years. Then a studio with their own team using premade UE assets has no excuse.
I think the opposite way, I think that you don't get it.
I think you guys need to read the original comment I responded to because everything you said is kinda irrelevant to my comment.
Wild Life isn't a game yet. I'm not arguing over the quality of updates, I'm just stating that there are indeed updates, it's not ike the devs just up and ran away with the money. Thinking too much into it here my dudes. It's not that deep.

WildLife is not a game at this point, if anything it's a testing bed for what could be in the game, alongside a pretty decent sandbox editor alpha.

Considering that the entire appeal of this game is sex with anthropomorphic characters (hence the name Wild Life), I have a hard time believing that.
Really strange considering games like KoboldKare and Breeders of the Nephelym are on there with no issues.

I think
This "game" isn't going anywhere. They start building the world and then it just gets a rework and starts all over. This game will forever be like like "Fallen Doll" just a basic sex pose simulator.
I think it would be better if its just animation simulator. In fact i think they should just scrap the whole RPG "gameplay" element and focus on the sandbox, customization element (characters, environments, scenes...), support modding, make it a ultimate porn sandbox game. The reason why Skyrim porn "game" is so famous because of the huge modding community behind it. I dont know why they keep focus on the RPG aspect not going nowhere .
I don't know tho, just my ignorant opinions.

Don't move the goalposts. You said it was using premade assets, I asked you for proof of that and you didn't give it. I'm not denying you claim, I just want you to back it up.

Having mod support would be absolutely great. Just look at Illusion games and what modders made possible in their sandboxes. Unfortunately, devs' comments on that have not been very encouraging (technical limitations)

I see the thread is still riddled with people who think they know how game development works, some things never change i guess, always the same complaints and arguments even though the game is clearly showing steady progress if you know what to look for, personally i'm very excited about the quests, i finally have a goal to work towards in the game rather than aimlessly run around and check out new animations.

And just to clarify, the vertical slice is not the game, it was never meant to be the game, just a showcase of what they're aiming for.

Wildlife is not a game after 6 years and it probably won't be in the next 6 years. You say that it's better situation when Devs release updates instead of running away with money. In my opinion - yes it is better, but for them, not for the supporters.

Why? Because if you grab some money and run away with them - that's a clear situation. Everybody knows that they get cheated on, everybody knows that was just a big fraud. And that's it. There is no financial support anymore. No more victims of such a practice.

But if someone is "smart" or "clever" enough, and see "the big picture" then dragging out development instead of running away with money it's much more profitable. If you are doing it right, then nobody can call it a fraud, but still you receive a shitload of money barely doing anything. You're just acting accordingly and getting payed for that.

As I said before - quantity of updates means nothing, quality means everything. And I always look at the final product - that alone will tell you more, than 1000 of updates or "devs being transparent with this or that".

I've played this game when the first playable version was released. Let's say I checked on this game one time per year.

When I posted my actual opinion about the game being "horrible" it was just because of this last April version.

After all those years this game it's not even standing in place - it's gradually worse, update after an update.

There is one thing that I actually agree with you on though. "It's not that deep". That's a correct statement. It's pretty clear what is happening here. But some of the "dudes" refuse to see that. Maybe it's just a denial. Nobody likes to admit their mistakes.

In the end, I don't care about this game at all. I'm just losing my time to write this shit just because I was called to the chalkboard because of my previous (totally deserved) opinion.

I think Lumen is what is making the textures all fucked up (most noticeable on clothes and it also makes lipstick not work at all.) If you load up map without Lumen enabled everything looks fine, but if I turn it on it immeditaely makes all the textures very low-resolution. This persists even after turning Lumen off, have to go back to the menu and start again.

EDIT: It appears with everything turned down from Epic to High I get the textures back so it's probably my system not being able to handle everything on max.
