Calm, beast, from today I will stop following this game, I have already been able to verify what kind of fanbase the poor dev has, so I will continue reading other threads with more friendly people, which is the minimum that I ask when I try to comment on a internet forum.

Look...I don't think that I, or anyone else is 'unfriendly' here when we suggest that people take two minutes to background themselves on what's going on. This is like coming to a meeting late and insisting that everyone explain to you what's going on - making zero effort to do it yourself.

I am well aware that this game doesn't tick all of those. It does have my important two and one of the optionals though which is why I gave it a go. As well, of course, as the excellent renders.
However, I can and do enjoy games outside of my wheelhouse occasionally.

I guess my biggest problem with this game is that I just feel (as the player) completely bloody irrelevant.
Like, the PC could be replaced with a blowup man-doll with a dildo attached and he'd have as much input to the story and sex acts.

But, yeah.
As a gamer I am used to feeling as though my actions in the game I'm playing are important. But here, even the decisions I do make for the PC tend to be taken away from him and given to the female he's engaging with instead.
Maybe I'm remembering wrongly but yeah, I just felt utterly superfluous.
Like a guy whose girlfriend agrees to a threesome with you and another chick and they spend the entire time with each other and you just sat there and watched, they didn't let you join. It's hot to watch sure but ffs...

I don't think that BD needs to see me mentally sparring with people and I would like this thread to serve as an 'ambassador' to one of the best VNs out there.

So what if they are? All other harem games have the male MC deciding to go about doing a harem wether their romantic partner wants to or not. In WVM Jamie is practically forcing you to date other women and is extremely happy about you doing so.
Remember also that this is a visual novel and not a game, so the player will always have less choices. Finally not being an asshole doesn't make the mc a "simp"

I loved it here and was very active at the beginning. Everything was much more light hearted and it genuinely felt like people just having fun. Critique was solid and I was still trying to find my own style and solidify where I was going with WVM.
I'm not sure if things have actually changed or if I've just become jaded after so much blind hate. Because for every hate message or review you guys see here there's 5-10 DM's you don't see. Add on some shit talk from other devs and it's easy to fade out.
I'm not trying to trash this website in anyway. I'll be the first to admit I wouldn't be anywhere near as successful as I am if it wasn't for being featured here. But man it feels like every time I come here now there's a new multi-page argument that stems from some silly shit that doesn't have the legs to be argued about for that much time. It's just people arguing opinions and repeating the same shit every single post. And that's in between the usual "update???" posts.
It's crazy to say but I actually miss the days when the biggest annoyance was "wtf happened to Natalie?!"
I love you guys and I love interacting with the community around my game but you gotta realize there's very little to gain from visiting here recently. This thread is meant to discuss the game but it feels like it's only being used to discuss what the game isn't.

One thing, I will say is, you are putting way too much emphasis on tags like simp, alpha/beta/delta/gamma male. This is a fantastical story where you can happily leave those pointless tags to the side and go in with an open mind. You might end up enjoying (like a stack of people on here) in which case keep playing and drooling over every Shauna pic that comes along (wait, that might be me) or you don't enjoy it and you can move onto a bunch of other VNs that cater to your fetishes. Asking a dev a to change the MC to your specific liking is kinda rude. I mean, I personally hate rape/blackmail with creeper MC, but I don't go into the threads for those games and complain about those specific things. Again, not trying to say you're wrong and I'm right, just different preferences and given the strong reaction you got, there are a lot of people who like this game just the way it is. Just, forget the tags and play the VN for it is.

Seriously. I don't understand why people can't just move on if the game, or any game, doesn't appeal to them.
I love everything about this game, the women, the setting, the MC, and the community (mostly). I can't wait for each new installment. Wish I could support you more than the crappy buck you get from me (I promise that dollar is crisp and clean
