Well, I think the issue is more selection bias that affects the perception.
It takes effort to translate something. Even a machine translation requires some basic digital fen-angling to ensure that it doesn't break (....well, usually people at least take that effort). As such, it is far, far less likely for someone to put in that effort when the game in question is an 'barely even an alpha' walking simulator stage game.
As such, we are far more likely to get the gems that someone has already picked out from japanese game sites. The pure trash is left behind where we can't see it. The average gets raised as a result.

Mate it's still a game. If you want just to fap, i think you know sites for that. My point is: If its a bad game you will get bad mtl. Nobody will puth effort for this game. On top of all we are all pirate's, so i cant expect some grand quality game if I didn't even pay for. So just play it.

Usually i don't mind about MTL but atleast you need to put some effort into it. Try some JMRPG games recently and you can see the problem. The translators don't even care about their job, like just copy and paste directly from google translate and don't have a time to check its meaning. How can you fap a game that say "bread bread bread" instead of "pan pan pan".If you dig into the forum, you can see some MTL games but with good translation, they were checked and fixed to the point sometime you can't even recognize that they were MTL. I like yellow and green MTL games (game with readable english) not red one (engrisk)
