I'm assuming that the characters in the other world will use this name when you talk to them? As much as I really want to use this name, I don't think it would make the story all that immersive: "Oh, Pussy Slayer, we need you to go collect 10 herbs for us~","Please save us from this fire-breathing dragon, Pussy Slayer. You're our only hope, Pussy Slayer!"

Edit: Also just want to point out that according to Google, the average word count for a single published novel is about 100,000 words. I'm already pushing close to 200,000. So my VN is approaching the stage of a multi book series.
As nice as this sounds, I'm always a bit skeptical when people assign a word count to games. I don't doubt that they have written that many words for the game, but here's the thing about most games: you won't see every word. Whether because you skip through content, or from differing paths, a player won't be able to read that entire 200,000 word count. Unless your game is a kinetic novel, that number isn't as...I don't know...all-encompassing as people make it out to be. For example, a game may have a word count of 300,000, but early on in the game, you make a decision that changes the course of the story entirely. With that, a reader may only be reading 150,000 words. You can then brag about how many words your story is, but some people will only read half of them. So, to them, is it really a story with a 300,000-word word count? Even if it's a ton of tiny choices instead of one big choice, those tiny choices and variations will add up (detract from) the actual word count that a reader sees. Also, one has to consider duplicate wordings. In many visual novels, certain choices can make you experience different outcomes, but the dialogue may be worded slightly differently as a result of your choices. At that point, are those difference accounted for when calculating word count? I don't know. Like I said, since it's not an actual novel, I don't put too much weight on a visual novel's word count. If anything, I'll only see it as a benchmark. The point I'm trying to make is that you may not be as far past the "novel average" as you think you are...at least in terms of number of words read.

Yes to the initial Q. Also, nothing wrong with Pussy Slayer. Just means you've become renowned as someone who saved a village from a roaming pack of Dire Tigers. On a successful attack, these are capable of doing (2d4+8)x2 AND 2d6+8 damage in a single round. That's a lot of damage.

As to the rest of it, the true divergence in the story is only NOW taking place. Of the ~200k at this point, you're going to see about 90% of it in a single playthrough up to the end of C6.

Let me introduce everyone to the official cats of Between Two Worlds. Ray (black kitty) and Billie. As you can see, they have claimed ownership of my bed. Guess I'll be sleeping on the couch from now on.

I adopted them today. Wasn't a hard choice. Ray is blind, and it's almost impossible to find a quality home that is good for a blind animal, and since I am home 24/7 thanks to my work on BTW, I can provide that safe and calm forever home!

Congrats on the new family members!

On a completely unrelated note:

Itch still doesn't have an Android version of chapter 6. Is that going to change at some point?

Unfortunately no. The game is now 2.6gb, and it's only halfway done. There are only two options for Android now:

1) Reduce the resolution of the files significantly (480p or lower by the end)
2) Play the Windows version via an app like Joiplay (which is what nearly all large games end up doing).

Your save files will still work via Joiplay (which is free), and if you've bought on Itch, you're entitled to still get the current and future versions, not just the android packs.

If you're playing on an Android, isn't that a phone? Why would you need anything higher than 480p?

Being the first and biggest cat fan of Between Two Worlds, let me say how happy and proud I am!
Just a piece of advice. If you decide to sleep on the couch, you can be sure they'll sleep there with you.
You have two friends for life... that will probably take over your life, but that's a good thing.
Now you're Between Two Cats!

They have accepted me :) I laid down with them for a little bit. After a few minutes, Billie started grooming me lol. Spent a good 10 minutes licking my hair. I spent about a month of Patreon earnings to get the place setup for them and the adoption. They have so many toys and treats and gadgets and such. Definitely going to give them the best life they could have ever hoped for!

It's great that they've bonded with you, and my estimation of you has gone up, being willing to take on Ray. I can only imagine it will be a lot of work taking care of him. Adopting new cats can be a very rewarding thing. I still remember when I adopted my little girl long ago. I got her from a friend whom I later married.

She was feral when they caught her. I took her and got her fixed, and her shots and all, but it took like a month before she would let me pet her, even if she wanted to snuggle up with me at night when I slept. She started doing that from the first night, and continued to sleep next to me her entire life.

She was 16 when she passed. I still miss her sometimes.

Drooskati: hope you don't mind that I used your Skylar-idle animation and made a little fun of it... but accelerating it significantly was just too compelling ;-)

For a while I was worried Oscar would show up as Rhaskin or whatever her name was.

I have been wondering about whether Oscar has connection to other world or if it's just their characters

Fantastic update.

I saw our beloved DM being made a dog coming, I don't know how but I did. It was only hours after playing that I caught the possible reason he was made a dog is that Dog is God backward, and while he had been the DM he had been God.

I'm hoping that in the end game, we're given the choice between staying in the magic world and returning to the technological world.

Huh, that came pretty much out of left field, started off as a good game and has become better with every update.
Makes me wanna start playing Dungeons and Dragons of break out the old The dark eye stuff again. It's been ages since I've last played it.

Your comment really looks like it's going to be a complaint not a compliment

No idea how things work in your life, but I normally don't praise something as good and then say it only gets better when I want to complain about something.

That's the part that made it sound like you were about to complain about something in the new update. You could easily have taken the comment elsewhere.

Also I'm not looking for a fight or anything
