Yes, I'm curious to see if that gets some more attention in the future. A neat litle scientific mystery spliced into the enhanced human/super soldier story. I think Stan Lee would have appeciated that development.

Of the "school setting" VN's I have tried Offcuts ties with Summertime Saga as the most entertaining (Love of Magic being, for me, the most entertaining university-set one... over BaDIK, even). They both develop interesting characters, SS having the same character reveals each playthrough, Offcuts presenting some variation along branches. The "James" character works for one of the young ladies and has some great personality attributes. I wouldn't want to spoil it by adding details. I found his character to be a good reason for multiple playthrough to see how his character is portrayed within the major different story branches.

I do not know if they are the same digital model, I think there is a striking physical parallel between them if they are not. James in Offcuts is developed into a stronger presence in Offcuts than your James is. I was hoping to see James and Nicky spark up a relationship of some kind, but we'll all see how things progress when you are ready to reveal them to us.

RTP was one of the first VN's I played through after discovering this site and the first one I bookmarked. Thanks for sharing it with the world.
I'm absolutely a fan of Offcuts, and am far from alone in that. That's one game/story that has had huge plaudits and accolades in the past, but sadly the long time between updates tend to mean it kind of gets forgotten by many. For some, sadly, out of sight is truly out of mind.

Offcuts is hand-drawn, I believe, and thus no 'models' are used in it, at least as far as I'm aware. There's no connection between the James in Offcuts and the James in RTP other than a coincidence of sharing a very common male name. The Offcuts James always read as a 'cockney gangster/mercenary turned loyal henchman' to me, in style of dialogue and actions. RTP James is a university educated American, who had a love of adventure and a best friend who hacked the CIA.

We've been lucky enough to borrow characters from other games openly, in cameo roles and crossover scenes, so with that out of our systems in that way, pretty much all the main characters of RTP are original creations. But as MrKnobb mentions, a few of the models have other roles in other games, kind of how an actor can play very different characters in different movies. :)

This is one of the reasons that I personally actually liked this story for having a defined character, Jensen Wenchester, as the hero protagonist, rather than a renamable 'player avatar' character. It lets us write actual personality for him, and to have other characters react to that personality. Without having that, the characters can be quite vague, barely sketched out, as it is impossible to know how any specific player may be seeing their character, and thus how to categorize their motives or actons, and how to react to them.
I think I see your point. But don't think my renamable Commander Shepard or main character of the The DeLuca Family are vague. They still have defined , realistic personality. Especially hero of The DeLuca Family, he is at least at the same quality level as Jensen Wenchester, and I can still choose his name.
My point is, this is a video game/visual novel. Letting me choose protagonist first name name doesn't make him any worst. If I change his name to Edward, Stanley, Charlie, Clifford the Big Red Dog (or whatever I like), it's still gonna be the same good Mr. Wenchester. It doesn't change the story at all, but now your product is a little bit more attractive, and there's more people willing to play it. I know it's silly reason to like or don't like something. But this world is full of competition.
I don't agree with your point of view, but I respect it. There's also a lot of main characters that prove your point, like Geralt of Rivia .

That's fair enough. However, I naturally gravitate a little to thinking of the huge number of games I've played where it is supposed to be 'my avatar', and yet none of the options are ones I'd have chosen really. If none of the choices are ones that you'd choose, it's effectively the same as no choice at all - you get forced to an action you didn't want to take. I can excuse this a lot more easily when I'm clearly playing a character who is defined by the game dev, rather than supposedly a character who acts as I decide.

I don't watch movies pretending that the hero protagonist has my name, so why would I want to rename a character in a game that is just as much a product of someone else's imagination as to who they are and how they behave and think?

Custom Name Mod
Hey guys. I have a gift for all you people complaining about MC's name (Or maybe I was the only one...)
This mod lets you change Protagonist name to whatever you like.
This is not mine mod. All credits goes to legendary Vinfamy (creator of the mod) and 'smth4nothin'.

Instruction: Copy vin_customname.rpy into the /game folder.
To change name simply use notepad to edit file. Change words 'Edward' and 'Eddie' with name of your choice.

Tested only with Season 1, but should work with all seasons.
This is 'do it yourself' mod. My English may not be perfect, so for more info visit mod's original page:

Man I just wish there was a harem route , I like most of the girls in this .at the start it looked like MC has the super power so a harem route is on .I stopped playing after season 2 too hard to keep tracks of all the routes .I wish some day someone will make a mod that we can get all the scenes at one go . until then I will only watch the cgs;)

the young and older milf action is the best and wish there was more of it...milfs that look 25 and accomplished army rangers usually don't do anything for me.

While the scene with Vicky was absolutely stunning, i'll have to question Jensen's decision to dress the same way he did in their first night together. I mean, i somewhat get the reasoning, but it was also the night Vicky was gang raped, so reminding her of that may not be the best decision? But it was the writer's decision that we don't get any drama from that, so it worked out beautifully in the end.

I loved the short moments where Eve showed her vulnerable side, it was very endearing to see and the sex scene itself very hot. I somewhat liked the way the Nicky threesome stuff was resolved, but i can't help but feel that the solo route got the short end of the stick as to the amount of details (haven't played through the threesome option, just checked the renders). But from my experience in pretty much every comparable game, whenever a threesome route is introduced, that's what happens. And that is even if you get the option to choose a solo route. So i can't complain too much, i can only appreciate that i was given the option.

Very lovely update as a whole, and it seems the story is getting close to its conclusion. I take it that the next episode is the culmination of the story, and episode 6 will be the epilogue, or something along that lines, right? Not sure if there any more seasons planned, tried to search the thread but couldn't find that piece of information.
