It was more or less a random decision. I created Morgan and thought to myself that she could work as a transgender character just as she would work as a female. Transgender routes in games are pretty common but I wanted to go a different route - away from the usual "she got bullied in school for her decision" etc to just a normal girl that received all the support and love from her family and friends that she needed. I knew this would lead to some polarized and controversial reactions ( Braindrop prepared me because he received similar stuff because of Shauna ) but I decided to stick with it. In the end it's my decision and if the player doesn't like that, he/she can always go with the female route :).
fair. but how deep do you plan to go into the psyche of it? because i may change my mind on morgan and play the other route depending on how realistic the mental instability is. because to the best of my knowledge (and having a best friend who gave board and befriended a trans person for a numerous years) trans people typically have a very high suicide rate post op not because of the lack of emotional support. but rather mental instability issues and realization that it won't be a solve all to their problems or make them happy. and of course the biological and technological problems of the process being irreversible in terms of recovering procreational functionality and sensitivity.

this kinda brings me to the hermaphrodite point, where as the parents typically chose the sex based on which organs work to bring stability and some normalcy to the child. and from what little i know doesn't have the added baggage of mental issues... i think? lol. well depending on what you're going for this could be the better or worse option. going by what i've seen so far she seems a lot more calm than a jessica type. well unless her personality is vastly different on trans path, which i doubt. which might mean she'd be better off written as a born hermaphrodite than a transgender. maybe?

sorry if i'm coming across as condescending or overly judgemental or anything, just giving some constructive criticism and asking some of the hard questions. both for my own personal benefit so i could enjoy both routes and whatever benefits it might bring you, the game, and any other players like me that prefer realism in some odd areas over idealism. :)

Well, the first thing I can tell you is that Morgan doesn't want to undergo surgery. Knowing a few transgenders myself, not all of them have this thought in their head. Some are happy with taking the hormone therapy only and identify as females, which is totally fine in my opinion. I think you are going a bit too in depth there anyway though, while the transgender route is different because you will get events there that you normally don't get, it won't change her personality or anything. On the female route you won't get the talk about getting new pills for the hormone therapy, for example, and some other dialogue changes ( Morgan won't take pills and just stands at the sink to grab a glass of water ).

Like I said, I'm not planning to go ultra deep in this territory because to be honest, I don't feel comfortable doing that because I'm not a transgender myself and don't want to cause issues for people that are. I want to keep this as wholesome as possible, simply because I don't like to dive too deep into topics like that. So I appreciate your constructive criticism, but after all it's still a game :).

I genuinely think you're coming from a good place here, but you're presenting an oversimplified narrative and generalizing it to trans women as a whole. Do some trans people have the issue you're describing? Yeah. Is it more complex than what you've written? Almost definitely yes. Is it something you should expect a random trans character in a game to have to deal with (even if Killer7 was planning on going the surgical route, which they apparently aren't)? No, not really. Some trans people who have undergone surgery have issues with depression afterwards, arising from a host of causes (lack of social support, lack of familial support, surgical complications, difficulty with physical recovery, financial problems, etc). Some have issues with depression because they're already dealing with depression, and there is no magical fix for it. Some have short-term issues with depression (which isn't uncommon after major surgery anyway); some have to deal with depression for the rest of their lives. And a fair number don't have any particular mental issues afterwards, and go on to be happy and healthy.

ok just finished the very good first episode. but i have 1 complaint here. why the fuck the mc dont ask more questions about sarahs sister? i mean she is a daughter too. if i would find out i have a daughter i would want to now everything about her. but no she just get mentioned 1 or 2 times. espacially in your games where everything is about family it makes no sence to me.

I agree! I just thought there were so many characters involved already and I didnt want to overload the first release with too much information.

Dont worry though, she will appear in the first Update and the constant telling mc that they cant talk about this and that will also more or less come to a stop because of the thing MC finds out at the end of the 0.1 release.

A "trap" is a male identifying person who can pass as a female very convincingly. It really has nothing to do with transgenderism, and definitely not Morgan who very clearly identifies as female and is on estrogen (if you choose that path).

Edit: Seems like the post I quoted was deleted/removed

Cross dressers and Drag Queens are not (in my experience) ever claiming to be trans women
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
The bottom line is: Morgan is a woman, doesn't matter if you're in the trans route or not, don't use terms she doesn't use herself, this extends to actual, real life people too.

So much was said about MC and Anna adopting the cop (Sarah?) when she was younger, but her little sister was barely a footnote. I'd have liked it if MC had simply asked Sarah how her little sister was doing and where she was. I know MC has a lot going on, but those two questions seem to be very much in character for him.
I also agree with this. I expected the MC to ask about it, but that didn't happen. Hope that is address in the next release as the MC wouldn't know where or who the little sister is.

Loved the opening chapter although I did guess the twist half way through.

I was also going to throw down a +1 on rethinking Olivia as non-lewdable, but did the dev notes change? This gets me excited.

Also it's only a side thing in MNF but there has already been a lot of restroom talk, I would also love it if we get some more pee in this one.

Minor thing: I'm seeing the occasional images within a scene where the lighting changes a little--just enough to be noticeable, really. For example, the transition between day4_sabrinasitsmilelaugh and day4_sabrinasitsmiletalksad fairly early on, during the breakfast scene at the hotel. It's probably not worth worrying over (rendering each image is pretty intensive, right?), but I thought I should point it out in case it hadn't been already.

Edit: Also seeing camera shifts in the bar scene. (day4_sabrinasitatbarlookatyoutalksmile to day4_sabrinasitatbarlookatyoutalk, for example)

I tried to edit a few certain numbers in the scripts.rpa, but it does not work. What am I doing wrong?

Killer7, as the guy who can't wait for you to introduce the Weebs' trans cousin in MNF, I want to thank you in advance for a trans daughter storyline in this game.

I am super eager to see how Morgan's story plays out and to giving her all of the affection she could ever ask for. She is my #1 LI choice amongst the daughters.

It depends on what you did and what you were trying to do. Generally, though, you don't want to edit an .rpa file; you're better off decompiling with Unren and working on the .rpy file instead.

Thanks, it finally worked when I edited it in variables.rpy and started a new Game.
