Thanks for the comment.
Also is there a way to have the clickable areas highlighted permanently?
It's on my To-Do list. There will be 3 mods for highlighting. The current one where the current room is highlighted until you move to the next, a "flash" mode where it it's highlighted and fades slowly away over 1 or 2sec and the permanent.
This will be in one of the next updates.

Last weekend I finally played through the update, but I hadn't had the time to comment on it here.
I have mixed feelings about it.

The new content was awesome as always, I love how the two of them made up, and I feel like now it will be time for things to start getting serious. I mean, now they can start working together for real this time against those thugs.
However, if I were to summarize what happened in the update, it would probably take me like 30 seconds. There are lots of gorgeous renders, lots of dialogue, and 4 easy coding mini-games, but for such a long development time the story barely moved forward. It's discouraging what an early state the game is at considering the number of characters that the dev has planned to get involved in the story, as well as some game mechanics that are supposed to be added later on such as increasing social stats. I can't see this game ever being completed if this is the development approach it's gonna have, which concerns me :(

Just my opinion: we could really do without certain aspects of the game that I think add nothing to the experience.

Firstly, those unnecessary sex scenes that no one cares about. The flashback sex scenes with Pia could add some interesting background to MC's past and help fill the lack of sex in specific updates, but the professor scene and the porn Baywatch scene were absurd. In my opinion, a loss of time for the dev with those renders and animations that could have been put somewhere else.
At this stage, I believe one meaningful sex scene per update would be more than enough; later, as more female characters are introduced, every update could already have a couple of good sex scenes or more as the dev sees fit according to the story.
After all, those of us who like this game are here mainly for the story and the atmosphere, not just for the porn part of it.

Secondly, I'm going to be cautious here because I can't really tell if it takes the same time to code 4 hacking mini-games as 2, but if development time does increase, I strongly suggest to cut down on the number of them. I don't really mind them and they're easy to solve, so I'm just talking about development time put on those.

That being said, I must thank the dev for now allowing us to see the full version of those scrolling renders, which I mentioned months ago. The experience with them is much better now.

And I saved the best part for last: almost 1 year ago I wrote that the first intimate scene with Selene was one of the best sex scenes I had seen in any adult VN; now I can safely say that the sauna scene is probably the best, most realistic, most satisfying, most genuine sex scene I have ever seen in any adult game ever. It just BLEW MY MIND. Absolutely splendid, from the initial conversation to the sequence after sauna time. Honestly, I'd love everyone on this site to experience it, because I'm positive they'd view sex scenes in other games quite differently.

I've started modeling every environment and asset on my own in cinema4d and blender, but felt the progress was to slow. So i recently started kitbashing locations to be able to continue in a faster way. I think there is only one environement i took as it as and just retouched the surfaces for octane. The characters are obviously created in Daz3D as i'am not very good with organic modeling. Hardsurface modeling is more my style.

So yeah, quite a few locations are completly self modeled, more informations on that are in the development thread. I will keep on adding more custom assets and locations later in the development as i want to have a unique touch to the game. As i said, for the sake of progress i won't have the time to model everything myself, even if i would like to do so.
Did you create the centrifugal spaces from an existing asset or was that 100% your work? It looks quite impressive.

The main hallway and the apartment hallway and many other are completely modeled by myself. Only some plastic textures are from . Thanks for the comment!
However, the benches in the main hallway were inspired by one of the assets in this bundle: . But I modeled it myself. The main hallway was inspired by those sets: and
Sadly I don't have references for the apartment hallway anymore.

If you hover over the locked symbol in the secrets menu you get a small hint. I don't want to be more specific, as I think they should be a little challenge.
I looked at the hint for #1 and have checked all three of the rooms indicated but can't seem to find a clickable spot.

Are some of these to be found during non-free-roam play?

No, they are only to be found in the free-roam. The highlighting for this secret on mouse over is really subtle because of the brightness.

OK, I'll visit the three rooms again. Thanks. I was wondering about non-free-roam because I can see the books during game play, but since I couldn't find a way to get behind the counter in free-roam, I wasn't able to see the books. I'll try again.

EDIT: I feel foolish. My mouse landed on it within seconds. Thanks! I think the rest of them are in places I don't have free-roam access yet, like the pool. That one surprised me because I had access to the other rooms unlocked in game play.

I'm definitely enjoying the game and will become a patron at the first of the month.

Ok, I've reached the end of the current story. I have everything but 9 and 14. I presume I need to have free-roam access to the pool, but I can't seem to get in. Am I missing something?
Thanks for the info I finally found the secret 14 in the sauna
In the sauna

I have a problem with secrets number 8 and 9. I searched the pool for nr 9 and found nothing and I have no idea for nr 8. Can someone help?
How do you get into the pool and sauna during free-roam? The door to the pool is not clickable for me.

There is a bug in the current version where spme rooms aren't unlocked. You can send me your save-file and I fix it manually. In the next update it will be fixed.

Will do. I'm not sure where the save-files are stored with Unity, though.

Some data is stored in:
C:\\Users\*username\AppData\LocalLow\Marvellous Lunatic\A Long Journey\

I have a "quick save" file in there, but cannot see my manual saves.

The save-files are the .txt files in this folder.

That's the only place where data and gamefiles are stored. Do you have more saves ingame than files in this folder? That would be weird.

How often is this updated?

Really liking it so far.
We've had 14 total releases for this title counting the original demo within the two years this thread has been going. However, many of those releases were, like the most recent two, bug fixes and repairs. This dev has been good about releasing regular updates of significant size about three times per year so we are due for another major release within the next couple of months. However, that is merely my guestimate based on prior posting history, not inside information. TBH, your guess is as good as mine. There may be additional information available directly from the dev on Patreon or Discord.

Has anyone figured the DJ deck out yet?
IIRC, it is a memory challenge, not a hand/eye coordination test. To start, click the DJ console anywhere on the control panel. You watch the sequence of controls as they light up, then match that sequence by clicking them in the same order that they were lit. The sequence gets a little longer with each new round. Once you complete all of the rounds, you win the mini-game. :)

I tried and failed the DJ console multiple times and was about to quit when I received a similar response in forum as I am sending to you now. Armed with that little tid bit of information I beat the DJ game on my next attempt, no worries. :)

Hope that helps you, my friend. Adventure ever on, Phat;)(y)

At the moment, the only problem I see with the type of sandbox included in the game is the prolonged development time because I suppose it takes a bit longer to code it right than a regular VN. But as for the players' experience, this sandbox is not so bad; it only takes you a few clicks to get where you must go, and it's mostly used during the hidden-render hunt at the end of each update, which can be skipped if you don't give a fuck.

the sandbox in this game is pretty bad at least at the beginning, everything is the same, finding selene was one of the worst gameplay experiences i had, you just click on random rooms till you find her

you can copypaste the same area 10000 times OR you can have time based events but not both at the same time

and no, reading the hints screen every 2 minutes is not a solution, this is bad game design
