I believe this is to demonstrate everybody's arrogance. It's a little unrealistic to assume it would be limited to Todd and his associates only (Todd's boss, Andrea, etc.), so I believe InsanePenguin is painting a picture that all of these big players in general are exceptionally arrogant. The MC, Dominique, Brandy, Veronica, and the twins are all extremely arrogant. While often the power is in wealth or being a threat to someone else, some of the arrogance takes the form of beauty: as an example, the twins act like every person alive wants to sleep with them. Even if this is justified, it's still arrogant to make that assumption.

While some of them (such as the twins and Melissa) "know their place", they are still very arrogant when interacting with people who aren't considered their "betters". There are some people who seem relatively humble or at least who don't overflow with self-importance, like Avery and Linda, both of whom seem at least reasonably confident, but neither of whom come across as arrogant. (Avery is not totally confident, of course, as can be seen by her tendency to second-guess herself at times.) Still, even newer characters like Serena tend to exude a fair amount of arrogance.

So, the less-than-wise decision by Dominique you brought up or the fact that there may be more dirt on the MC doesn't surprise me. Arrogant people tend to think they can get away with anything, or they assume they have everything under control. They tend to do things they shouldn't because they think consequences won't apply to them (I'm too good to get caught).

Being in a similar-ish situation (not same industry, but can identify with the level of achievement and the aggressiveness of the interactions and cut-throat exchanges), you do not get INTO this situation thinking you can be beat; nor would "giving up" be an option if someone challenged you, heheh. It is just another speed-bump along the route that got you to that point. At this level, you either win or go to jail. :ROFLMAO:

Aggressive challenges are to be expected, no matter the amount of "evidence" against you. Being "caught" does not happen until you are convicted.

At this level everyone thinks they are infallible. You do NOT get to a level such as this caving to any challenges or being afraid to take risks. As said in the game, it's cut-throat. That is why I love this game... I can identify... I just wish my wife was so... FREE with the other ladies, hehe. WORKING on it though.

Until after conviction (even many times AFTER that) it is business as usual. :LOL:

The game seems to have no stakes. Everyone is a douchebag; there is no target here that seems worth the effort to corrupt/dominate. Thus far, only Dominique seems to be someone the MC can't do without. If she is in no danger, than a great deal of drama dissipates. I know this will raise the dreaded specter of NTR, but a game with no stakes leaves out much enjoyment. I for one do not ever see myself as the MC, therefore watching the bad ends never bothers me. I understand many people hate the very idea of NTR (or its close relatives), but its mere existence shouldn't be a deal-breaker.

But, whatever, I am not the dev and he will create the story he wants. If someone else has a different take on the tone of the game (I have not gone through all of it yet), please let me know.

Mere existence is okay, but atleast it should be aviodable. Most of non-ntr guys who are playing this game are being cautious because of mysterious rare character of wife. Many want to know how can she deal with all of the drama. Because, we know, the hidden protagonist is his wife. But, will she make deal with other men, like todd? or Be faithful?

But, But.. if dev wants, he make this story interesting without including ntr for wife. Like she gets jailed, insulted, etc.. And, she comes back to the game with a bang and shock all of us (without touching another man).

So, yeah, there are many bad ending adult games without ntr stuff. Like Dreams of Desire. A non-ntr game which is capable to have ntr, but not done that and still come out as a successful story.

I mean I didn't "diverge" really, personally it seemed super off this important business lady, much less one dealing with finance as Veronica is would actually sleep with Todd. I just feel the kind of person who gets to where she does is headstrong and independent and while she'd gladly use her feminine charms to get where she is, she would never even consider submitting to someone like that. So I just wrote it how it made sense to me :unsure:

There's been plenty of development recently, but keep in mind this is 0.5. About halfway, at most. All the story pieces are driving forward and the current update is no different. Lots of games on here try to present a full story each update, we're moving more towards a full story by the end. So take each update as part of a whole :)

You would imagine the MC at some point would be cleaning up other things that could be used against him and getting ahead of situations, after getting over the initial shock of being blackmailed you would think he would be going ok what else can be used against me and my wife, I need to get ahead of this and who best to know what can be used but him and his wife. But he always seems to be one step behind. I understand that is needed at the start because that is the set up at the beginning. But if there is now more blackmail material, then it was all pretty pointless so far cleaning up the original blackmail material.

I am still going to see where this goes and hope this is leading somewhere, just a little disappointed the blackmail story thread is now being revisited with more blackmail material, as it makes the MC and wife look incompetent at a certain point. I hope there is not a third piece of blackmail material after this.

The guy who said it below said it perfectly - arrogance and the level they're at. Let me put it to you this way - a co-worker of yours hates your guts and wants you fired. Do you stop watching porn in case he somehow gets your internet history and submits it to your boss? Dominique knows what's up, but she has to do what she has to do. She's not a woman who will sit still and wait for the man to solve her problems - she's building her influence, using it. Anyway, it's all still up in the air, as I said above don't forget this is 0.5.

As for the rest of your comment, since you said you haven't gone through all of it yet, come back when you do, the stakes do go quite up by now :)

Can (or will) the bad guy (Todd, was it?) be able to seduce Dominique if the MC makes bad choices? Or should I consider Dominique to be a super NPC, almost on par with the MC? This is what I mean by stakes in an erotic game. If the MC can never lose her to another man, then I feel that is a lost dramatic opportunity. But I am not the creator, and I applaud you for all of the work you have done thus far (and for engaging on this forum). I hope I am not coming off as negative, because I see so much of that here. Regardless of our conversations, I wish you nothing but the best!
